todoroki had left to prepare for his match, leaving miyuki sitting with iida and tokoyami. miyuki had saved a spot next to her for uraraka. the excitement in the stadium was palpable, fans and students alike were talking about the upcoming battles.
"s-something horrible's happened to your eyes! you need to go see recovery girl!" iida yelled out, his voice tinged with panic as uraraka approached them.
"i already did. this is from...something else," ochaco replied softly, her usually bright demeanor clouded with an unspoken sadness. miyuki frowned, a shadow of concern crossing her face.
"ah, of course! if i were you, i'd be frustrated, too," iida stated disappointedly recalling her match with bakugou. "it's no time to wallow. use this next fight as a source of encouragement," tokoyami advised, his arms crossed over his chest, staring intensely at the stage.
"you're so wise," iida admired, his tone filled with genuine respect.
miyuki patted the seat next to her, signaling for uraraka to sit. "thank you, tomi!" the brown-haired girl smiled cheerfully.
"is that a nickname?!" miyuki beamed, her hands on her cheeks in delight.
"is that okay? or should i just call you satomi?" uraraka asked worriedly, not wanting to cross any boundaries.
miyuki shook her head rapidly, "no! i love it!" she gave her a reassured smile.
"i can feel the anticipation in the stadium! and that's because the second round's first match is gonna be epic! it's the guy who won his last fight by a landslide and literally left half the audience frozen," present mic's voice echoed through the stadium, charging the atmosphere with excitement.
"the hero course's shoto todoroki! and this kid almost walked out of his first matchup but made a stunning comeback by showing off some impressive moves! also from the hero course, izuku midoriya!"
"tokoyami, how do you think this match will go?" iida turned his head to ask.
"it depends on whether or not midoriya is able to get in close to him," tokoyami replied, earning a nod from miyuki.
"yeah. that's the problem. how will deku avoid the ice?" uraraka's worry was evident in her voice.
"both of the heroes-in-training have been frontrunners in the sports festival! but which one of these rivals will advance to the next round? prepare for...midoriya versus todoroki!"
"begin!"
miyuki watched attentively, her eyes glued to the match as she wrote down notes in izuku's notebook. todoroki started the fight with a massive ice attack, which izuku quickly shattered with a fling of his finger.
"satomi, is that midoriya's notebook?" iida asked, noticing her intense focus.
"yeah, i told izuku i would analyze the match for him." she was completely immersed in her task, almost as if she had embodied izuku's analytical spirit, even murmuring like him.
"wow, you guys seem like twins!" ochaco joked, her eyes darting back to the match.
"wow! midoriya managed to break todoroki's insane opening move!" present mic's excitement was palpable.
todoroki used the same attack once again.
"he countered again!"
"the ice behind todoroki is probably to avoid getting blown out of bounds by izuku." miyuki mumbled, her teeth clenching as she saw todoroki use the same attack a third time and izuku counter it once again by breaking another finger. "that's probably his plan. he wants izuku to use up his quirk..."
