DAY 2
miyuki yawned as she adjusted her glasses, her eyes still heavy with sleep. her hair was hastily tied in a messy braid, hung loosely over her shoulder and she was wearing her training suit along with everyone else. it was 5:30 a.m., and the sun was just beginning to rise. despite the early hour, mr. aizawa had everyone gathered outside, ready to begin another grueling day of training.
"good morning, class," mr. aizawa began, his voice as calm and composed as ever, he stood in front of them, his dark hair falling into his face, but his eyes were sharp and focused. "today, we start a training camp that's designed to increase your strength. our goal is to push your skills to their limits and beyond, so that each of you can earn a provisional license. this will enable you to confront the dangers that continue to lurk in the shadows. proceed carefully."
miyuki blinked, trying to shake off the last remnants of sleep as she listened. the weight of his words began to sink in.
mr. aizawa's gaze shifted to bakugou, and he tossed him a baseball. "look alive, bakugo. try throwing that for me."
bakugou caught the ball effortlessly, his expression determined. "yeah, sure. like in the fitness test," he replied, a hint of confidence in his voice.
"that's right," mr. aizawa confirmed. "when you first started at u.a., your record was 705.2 meters. let's see if you've improved."
bakugou smirked as he stepped to the front of the group, stretching his arm in preparation. the anticipation among the students was palpable.
"oh, i get it! we're checking our progress," mina exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with excitement.
"a lot's happened to us in the last three months. maybe he can throw it a whole mile now!" sero added, his voice filled with hope.
"c'mon, get it, bakugo!" kirishima cheered, his enthusiasm infectious.
bakugou's grin widened, the challenge igniting a fire in his eyes. "i've got this. no one blink," he warned, his voice laced with determination. he wound up and then, with a fierce shout, "GO TO HELL!" he launched the ball into the air, his explosion propelling it forward.
"that was 709.6 meters," mr. aizawa announced as he checked the device. there was a collective gasp from the students as they processed the number.
"that's it? kinda disappointing," sero muttered, unable to hide his surprise.
mr. aizawa's expression didn't change, but his tone grew more serious. "you've had a single semester at u.a., and through your various experiences, all of you have definitely improved. but those improvements have been mostly in your mental prowess and technical skills, with a slight increase in stamina along the way. your quirks, however, haven't grown much stronger. not on a fundamental level."
he paused, letting the weight of his words sink in before continuing. "that's why we're now going to focus on improving your powers." a rare grin tugged at the corners of his lips, and it was far from reassuring.
"this'll be so hard, you'll feel like you're dying. let's hope you all survive," he added, his voice filled with amusement that sent a shiver down miyuki's spine.
wow... he's kinda creepy she thought to herself, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips. as she looked around at her classmates.
...
miyuki had been placed far away from the rest of the group for her training, isolated in a small, transparent room at the edge of the camp. the area around her was plain, no trees or shelter, apart from the small clear room she was in. a fitting location given the intensity her quirk and training. she was training similarly to kaminari, running her lightning currents through a high-capacity battery to build resistance and control. but her training had an added twist, she had to endure it while watching an endless stream of heart-wrenching clips, carefully selected by mr. aizawa himself.
