mr. aizawa stood at the front of the classroom, his eyes scanning the room with a serious look. "all right. that's it for class today. there's only one week left before your final exams begin. i'm sure you're all studying constantly, right?"
he paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "don't forget to keep training. the written exam is only one element. there's also the practical portion to worry about. good luck." with that, he turned and left the classroom, leaving his students in a mixture of excitement and dread.
"i've barely even taken notes this semester!" kaminari and mina exclaimed worriedly with nervous laughter.
"and with the sports festival and internship, i didn't have time to read the textbook," kaminari added, running his fingers through his hair in frustration.
"it's true that we haven't had very much free time lately," tokoyami agreed, a bead of sweat forming on his face, reflecting his own worries.
across the room, todoroki approached miyuki with a calm demeanor. "satomi, i have the manga for you." he handed it to her. miyuki's eyes lit up with excitement as she took it from him.
"thank you!" she said, her voice full of gratitude.
"have you started blue lock?" she asked him, her excitement bubbling over.
"no, i wanted to wait until i gave you mine and that way we can start them together." miyuki's heart melted at his words.
how can he say that so casually?!
"ah~ okay," she responded, smiling warmly at him.
in the background, mina and kaminari continued to panic about the exams, their anxiety escalating after discovering that mineta had placed 10th while they ranked 20th and 21st in the midterms.
"ashido, kaminari! we've still got time to study! that way, we'll all get to go to the training camp together. right?" izuku's voice was full of encouragement as he tried to lift their spirits. he had secured 5th place in the midterms.
"yes! as class rep, i have high hopes that we'll make ua proud!" iida chimed in, his confidence shining through. he had earned 2nd place.
"it's pretty hard to fail if you just pay attention in class, isn't it?" todoroki said, his face expressionless. he had come in 6th place.
"todoroki!" miyuki muttered through her teeth as she playfully slapped his shoulder. "that's not nice." she had achieved 3rd place in the midterms.
"hey, don't worry about it, you two. i can catch you up to speed on the important topics, if you want," yaoyorozu offered, her voice steady and reassuring. she had taken the top spot in the midterms.
"you're the best, yao-momo!" everyone cheered, their relief palpable.
"i'm afraid i won't be any help when it comes to the practical, though," yaoyorozu sulked, her confidence faltering slightly making miyuki frowned.
"i've been studying, but... could you help me out, too? i'm having some trouble understanding quadratic functions," jirou asked awkwardly, her usual cool demeanor replaced with a hint of desperation. she had placed 8th.
"tutor me, please! classical japanese is killing me!" sero clasped his hands together in a desperate plea. he had placed 18th.
"is there room for one more? i'm afraid i'm falling behind a little," ojiro admitted nervously as he approached yaoyorozu's desk. he had placed 9th.
"pretty please!" all three of them begged together.
yaoyorozu's eyes lit up with determination. "wonderful! yes, let's do it!" she exclaimed, standing up with excitement.
