"What is Rake doing here again?" reklamo ni Ate Mikee nang pumasok sa kwarto ko. "Susunduin ka na naman?"

"Tell him I'll go down in a bit."

"Sis, what happened? Just three days ago, you were crying because of him. You two even had a row here and now he's here again to fetch you? Siya rin ang naghatid sa'yo kagabi, 'di ba?"

Ngumuso ako para magpigil ng ngiti. "Ate, it was a misunderstanding. What happened years ago, it was all misunderstanding."

"What do you mean? I'm confused. Tell me all the deets!"

Tumawa ako at tinapik siya sa braso. "I'll tell you later, may hinahabol akong meeting. I'll see you at the office."

Dali-dali akong bumaba at lumabas para sumakay sa Navara ni Rake. He immediately held my hand then drove off.

It was two days since we cleared things up. It's funny how everything was a misunderstanding. I've been so stressed out and disturbed for years and just one talk, everything was cleared. All the heavy baggages in my heart were lifted off.

I haven't told my cousins about it but I'm sure they already have an idea since he started picking me up from home to the office and driving me home. I haven't confirmed that we're okay now, though. Besides, they are busy with their own lives too so they don't have the time to be nosy.

"How long are you planning to stay here? Baka hinahanap ka na ni Marlon." sabi ko.

"I'm working virtually so it's fine. May office din naman ang M Farms dito."

"Does he know what you're doing here?"

"That I'm here trying to get you back? Yeah, I told him."

Namilog ang mga mata ko at natawa na lang. I shook my head.

Hinatid niya ako sa office bago umakyat sa floor kung saan ang opisina ni Jake para pag-usapan ang pinaparenovate niyang bahay. He wants the construction to start as soon as possible.

Wala pa si Ate Mikee pagdating ko sa opisina. Maaga pa kasi, may meeting lang ako kaya kailangan kong dumating nang maaga. Pumasok ako sa meeting room at nagjoin na sa virtual call.

Nang matapos ang meeting, pumasok si Ate Mikee kasunod si Nica. Ginulo nila ako para itanong kung anong nangyari sa aming dalawa ni Rake. Tinawagan pa nila si Kim na gusto ring makaalam.

"I thought you are busy?" tanong ko sa kanila.

"Busy nga kami pero kailangan naming unahin ang tungkol sa'yo. So that's what happened? Naniwala ka naman agad?" si Kim.

"Oh come on, Kim! Stop the negativity." Si Nica.

Kim laughed. "I was just joking. Anyway, Rake indeed changed a lot the past years so I think he's sincere with you. Pero sa susunod na gagawa na naman siya ng mali, hindi na talaga namin siya mapagbibigyan."

I snorted. Kim said those lines too years ago. I don't think she really doubts Rake. Maybe at first, when she was fervently against him but I guess she changed her mind.

Hinawakan ni Ate Mikee ang dalawang kamay ko. "I'm happy for you, Mich. I really saw the change in you after you got back together with him."

Ngumiti ako. "I'm happy right now too, Ate. I hope this will last forever."

"Ako, I can't trust Rake yet. He has to prove again that his feelings are real." si Kim na tinawanan ko lang. "But I'm also happy with his effect on you, Mich."

"Me too. There was a big change. You look more happier than before. It's like your light has returned. You looked dull before, to be honest." si Nica.

"I still cannot believe that everything was a misunderstanding. Nagkasiraan kayong dalawa dahil lang sa maling akala." Kim said and we laughed.
