Sumulyap ako kay Kim at tinaasan niya ako ng kilay. Umirap ako. So he has a girlfriend, huh? So he's indeed really doing fine. Kunsabagay, it's been four years already. He's not affected anymore. Besides, he was the one who cheated, he will never be affected.

Heck, I bet he didn't even moved on because he has nothing to move on from in the first place. It was all a game for him since day one. There was no feelings involved, it was a pure play for him.

Well, I guess good game well played, huh? What an asshole, indeed.

I wonder who is his girlfriend, though? Seryoso na ba siya ngayon o may plano ring paglaruan ito kung sino man siya? Marriage? That's a big word but I bet that's not on his vocabulary. Lola should not expect much from him.

Was it the girl we saw?

Kim:

I don't know! I don't even know that he has a girlfriend. Why are you asking? Interested and affected, still?

Umirap ako. I typed in my reply angrily while gritting my teeth.

Ako:

Really funny. Just wondering who she is so I can warn her.

I feel sorry for the girl. Dapat maaga pa lang, makipaghiwalay na siya. Who knows? Baka hindi lang iisa ang girlfriend niya. Maybe he's two timing now, or maybe he has three.

I shook my head. Nagpatuloy ako sa pagkain para matapos na. Gustong-gusto ko nang makaalis dito.

"What about you, Mich? Any plans on getting married?" si Tita Laarni.

Nag-angat ako ng tingin at ngumiti. "It's not yet on my mind, Tita. I'm still young, though."

"I agree but you should already have a boyfriend at your age." Lola suggested. "Oh, I remember you and Rake were really close before. Have you met last night?"

I almost choked on my own saliva. Nasamid si Kim at muntik nang maibuga ang iniinom niyang tubig. Tyler cleared his throat loudly while Marlon drank his water quietly. Nagtinginan naman sina Tito Jomar at Tita Laarni.

Umaayos ng upo si Paulo sa tabi ko habang tumitikhim. I felt his hand slowly making its way to the backrest of my chair.

Kumunot ang noo ni Lola at tinignan kami dahil sa naging reaksyon namin. Nagtaas siya ng kilay.

"Is there something wrong?"

"Mama, I think we should just continue eating." si Tito Jomar.

Huminga ako ng malalim. I don't want to look at him to see his reaction. Nag-iinit ang buong mukha ko ngayon sa sobrang awkward at pagiging tensyonado.

"What's wrong? I just suddenly remembered that these two were close years ago and now you're not even talking. Are you not friends anymore?"

"You're right, Lola. They were indeed friends before." singit ni Tyler.

"Shut up, Ty!" pinandilatan siya ni Kim.

"Yup, I know they're friends and were really close with each other back then. What happened?"

Gusto ko nang umirap. Oh my god. Lola can't read the room. The air was so tensed and awkward! At ngayon niya lang talaga napansin na hindi na kami close? Well, sabagay, hindi nga naman na ako pumupunta rito kaya hindi na alam ni Lola ang balita.

Humalakhak si Paulo sa tabi ko at nilipat ang kanyang braso sa balikat ko. He pulled himself closer to me.

"Lola, I think that's all in the past now and let's not dig it up. What's more important is the present." Paulo held me tightly. "We should focus on the present, not the past."
