A Way Out

Escape

Thomas had told me everything. he told me about the part they retrieved from the griever after killing it and how while I was unconscious, him and Minho both went out in search for a way out and found one. so now, I watched as two kids carry my "unconscious" brother and Dan held teresa hands behind her back and dragged her to the front of the maze. 

"This is such a waste." Gally said. 

"Gally," Winston said, "It doesn't feel right man." I looked at him and nodded. Obviously this doesn't feel right, Thomas didn't do anything wrong. 

"Yeah what if Thomas is right?" Fry asked, "What if he can lead us home." 

Everyone looked to Gally for his answer and he simply said, "We are home." My fists tightened and obviously Minho noticed because he grabbed my hand and I eased up. 

"Okay?" Gally continued, "I don't want to have to cross anymore names of that wall." 

"You really think banishing us is going to solve anything?" Teresa asked. I suddenly remembered why she was my best friend at WCKD, she always stuck up for people. 

"No." Gally answered, "But this isn't a banishing," He continued, "It's and offering." 

My eyes went wide and I looked to Minho and he shook his head. I turned to my left and saw Chuck with his pack and a bunch of weapons. I could almost laugh at how funny he looked but right now was definitely not the time. Maybe later.

"Wait. What? Gally! What are you doing?" Teresa asked, distressed as Dan tied her up to a post. 

"You really think I'm going to let Thomas back into the maze after what he's done?" Gally questioned. "Look around you!" He continued,  "Look at our glade. This is the only way." 

I looked to Minho who nodded at me and then to Newt. 

"And when the grievers get what they came here for," Gally said, "everything goes back to the way it was." 

I rolled my eyes and Teresa said, "Are you listening to this? Why are you all just standing there, he's crazy." 

"You shut up," Gally retaliated. 

"If you stay here," Teresa explained, "the grievers are going to come back, are they are going to keep coming back until you're all dead." 

"Shut up! Tie him up!" Gally ordered. 

When no one made any effort to move Gally snapped, "Did you hear me? I said tie him up!" 

The two boys went to grab Thomas but he slammed his elbow into them and knocked them to the ground. I grabbed my blade out of my pack and watched as Teresa kicked Dan right where it hurts and I untied her and high fived her. 

Gally took a step forward to stop us and Minho held a knife to his throat and muttered, "Don't even think about it." 

Minho slowly walked out in front of Gally and walked to my side.  

"You're full of surprises aren't you?" Gally said to Thomas. 

"You don't have to come with us but we are leaving," Thomas announced, "Anyone else who wants to come now is your last chance." 

"don't listen to him okay he's just trying to scare you." Gally said. 

"No." I said, "We are not trying to scare you. You are already scared. Hell, I'm scared, but I'd rather risk my life out there then spend the rest of it in here." I said, coming face to face with Gally. 

He furrowed his brows at me and Thomas said, "We don't belong here okay? This place. It isn't our home. We were put here. We were trapped here. At least out there we have a choice. we can make it out of here, I know that."
