Seeing her daughter's craving and sad face, Jennie finally said, "Daddy went to a faraway place. He's busy at work and can't come back to accompany Jangmi for the time being. Baby, can you wait?"

Knowing that she had a father, Jangmi looked happier. She would hug her doll and talk to herself, saying that her father would come back to play with her.

A moment ago, Jennie had withdrawn from such a good chance for Jangmi to meet her father.

If she were here by herself, even if Taehyung were cold, she wouldn't mind. However, she didn't want Jangmi to see her father being cold in this kind of unprepared situation.

Taehyung had been indifferent to her and her child for the past two years, and she didn't want his appearance to bring harm to her child.

After all, Jangmi's health wasn't good enough to withstand any sort of stimulation.

Rather than having a huge disappointment, it was better not to have any hope at all.

Taehyung was still Kim Taehyung, but he was no longer the Kim Taehyung who used to treat her as a sister.

Ever since she got pregnant.

No, or rather, since he knew that she liked him. He deliberately kept his distance until that night. Because of the moment of selfishness and confusion, everything had been ruined. The both of them could never go back to that time.

New York. This city. Jennie remembered the two of them drinking beer together here many years ago, telling stories and jokes about her brother, Jimin.

Taehyung , who was originally indifferent to others but was very close to friends, hiding his heart more cautious and wise than anyone else under the surface. He was no longer the man she remembered from her memory. A man who could always make her smile.

He had avoided her as if she were a monster. For the past two years, he even canceled a major collaboration between Kim Corporation and Park Enterprise.

How much hatred and disgust must he have towards her?

Jennie had thought that her twenty years of life had been in vain, perhaps because she was still as naive as ever. It was only today that she suddenly realized it.

Perhaps hatred and resentment did not fully express his attitude toward her.

Rosè once asked her, how long will she last like this?

At the time, Jennie had said that she would persevere until she felt tired.

Perhaps, it wouldn't be long before she could completely bury this relationship that had persisted for eleven years.

She was tired, tired to the point that she, Jangmi , and the two servants were the only ones in the family. Jennie was used to hugging her daughter when she fell asleep, running between the company and home, used to not having Taehyung in her life or in her thoughts.

In fact, she knew a lot of things.

If it wasn't for the fact that she was Jimin's sister, if it wasn't for the fact she was Rosè's sister-in-law, if it wasn't for the fact she was the granddaughter of the Park Family, maybe Taehyung would treat her as one night-stand and not marry her at all.

"Thanks for buying with us. Please come again, miss."

Jennie took the doll and looked at it several times before putting the box back in the bag.

Just as she was about to leave, she saw that the Bentley had returned to the street and was parked in front of the children's toy store.

The window behind was slowly lowered, revealing a very handsome face she had not seen in some time.
