CHAPTER 8

Since they were in Washington's downtown, they soon heard sirens from a police car approaching the area. When the men heard the sound of a police car, they cursed while holding their breath and got into the car quickly.

Only one seriously injured man was stopped by Taehyung. After the police arrived, he handed the man over to the police and sent Jennie straight to the hospital.

Although the wound in her waist was indeed only a superficial wound, the wound was very deep and she lost a lot of blood. Taehyung was always by her side during this period.

Jennie could hear him ask the doctor, "Is she really all right? Are you sure there's nothing wrong?"

She slowly opened her eyes and smiled at him while receiving the IV Drop. She had obviously lost a lot of blood, but when she opened her eyes and looked at him, she discovered that Taehyung's face was paler than hers.

Was he afraid something would happen to her?

Jennie was clearly in pain, but she was still grinning from ear to ear when she saw Taehyung holding her hand. She felt a strong warmth in her heart.

Since it was a superficial wound, Jennie was able to be discharged from the hospital quickly. She was nearly kidnapped in Washington, thus she decided to go to a women's defense class and learned Taekwondo and other women's defense skills for more than a year. Although she cannot be considered proficient in martial arts, those skills can still be helpful in times of crisis.

She didn't want to implicate anyone. Even when she was in danger, she wanted to fight alongside other people and not be protected behind their backs.

Taehyung continued to bring her to various events and the two of them were getting closer, but from beginning to end, their relationship was still the same.

Until the year when Chairman Choi's daughter, Sowon, celebrated her eighteenth birthday. Jennie and Taehyung went to Sowon's aging ceremony together. At the banquet, Sowon kept pestering Taehyung and looked at Jennie as if she was facing a formidable enemy.

Once the banquet reached the peak, Choi Kinam directly asked Taehyung to dance with her daughter. At that time, Taehyung was also shocked by the sudden request, but he was calm and composed when he looked at her.

Jennie originally thought that Taehyung would not agree to Kinam's request, but she didn't expect that when Sowon used her gentle voice to ask him to dance with her, he didn't refuse.

On one hand, Jennie wanted to sever this relationship between the two of them, while on the other hand, she knew that Taehyung did this because of the cooperation between Kim Corporation and Choi Group. She didn't want to affect the initially good relationship between these two companies.

She wasn't in a hurry at all. She always believed that there would always be a day when she would be able to reach her destination. She would be able to capture his attention once the right time comes.

It was only that day that Jennie realized that Taehyung was not a bird in a cage. His sky was wider than hers and there were so many women that adored him.

Tonight, Taehyung would rather be with Mrs. Choi's most beloved daughter.

If she continued to waste time like this, taehyung's marriage to some famous young miss might just be the end result. It would be too late by then.

Looking at the couple on the dance floor, Jennie could only sit on the chair not far away and remained silent for a long time.

When Taehyung sat next to her, he noticed that her expression was not very good. When he was about to touch her forehead to check the temperature, Jennie lightly turned her face away.
