Chapter 38

Taehyung 's mouth twitched. "You little girl ..."

The sparkle in Sowon's eyes was very much like Jennie in the early years of her life, always sticking to him. Although she didn't want to be so attached to him, the way she looked at him was always the same, very bright and full of stars.

As he realized that he was somehow thinking of Jennie, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a figure standing outside the window, and he suddenly looked up.

The instant their eyes met, Taehyung froze. With a frown, he subconsciously pushed Sowon away and opened the door to the office.

Jennie stood by the window silently with a contract in her hand. She observed everything that had happened since Sowon came out of Taehyung's private resting room, including the slight indulgence and gentleness he showed to her.

It was a lie to say that she wasn't jealous. All of this indulgence and gentleness, as well as that faint warmth, had once belonged solely to her, Jennie, and now ...

Jennie didn't avoid his stares the moment he saw her. She just looked at him and smiled.

Of course, she had no idea what Taehyung was thinking or planning. She only knew that all of this scene had given her a fierce slap in the face, waking her up to let her see this stupidity.

As soon as Taehyung opened the office door and rushed out, Jennie turned around and left.

"Ahh...Brother Taehyung..." Sowon didn't see the people outside the window. She just knew that Taehyung's mood had changed out of a sudden. Like a gust of wind, he left the office.

Sowon hurriedly chased after him and then changed her way of calling him, "President Kim!"

"Boss!"

When Yeonjun saw Taehyung walk out, he immediately called him. However, Taehyung just walked past him and stepped towards Jennie, who was walking towards the elevator.

Jennie walked fast, but she did not run away. At this point, she didn't want to see his face, hear his voice, or know anything about him.

"Jennie." Taehyung chased after her, reaching out to grab her wrist.

Jennie wrenched her hand away from him and quickened her pace, her back to him.

"Stand still." Taehyung frowned as he spoke harshly. He then stepped forward and forcefully grabbed her wrist, pulling her to his side.

Suddenly, Jennie, whose ankle was injured, staggered to his side. She almost fell into his arms, but she managed to stand firmly. She didn't get close. She raised her head and looked at him coldly. "Let go!"

"Why are you here?" Taehyung's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he helped to support her.

Jennie smiled. There was a hint of coldness in her smile. "I came to discuss the renewal of our cooperation project, but it seems like I didn't come at the right time."

She pushed the contract to him and said, "This is the cooperation project between Kim Corporation and Park Enterprise when my brother was still in charge. I do not want to interfere with it. Whether renewal or termination, President Kim, you can think about it first and give me the answer three days later."

With that, she turned around and left.

In that short moment, she had suppressed all of her anger. After saying all that she wanted to say with a smile that didn't reach her eyes, her indifferent attitude made Yeonjun hurriedly stop Sowon, who was chasing after Taehyung.

Sowon didn't know what had happened. From her angle, she only saw a woman talking to Taehyung. Taehyung's back was on them, so she couldn't see his expression.
