I Want to Forget

Chapter 4

I dress myself in a childish T-shirt, long denim shorts that went to my knees, and Rainbow Twinkle Toes Skechers. I put my hair in to low pigtails, and put ribbons in each pigtail. I was ready for school. I look down at my stomach, the T-shirt was a little.....tight. Was I fat? Usually my mom just told me it was baby fat, and that when I get my growth spurt it will go straight to my boobs. I arrive at school. The new ki- err Toby has been here for one week. I wave to my friends in the quad area.

"Hey guys," I call.

"Hey Paris," they reply. I look at Summer who was looking at me with a look of disgust.

"What?" I ask her confused.

"Why are their little kittens on your shirt?" She asks.

"I don't know....." I shrug.

"Don't ever wear that again." Summer walks away. See what I mean she does that to me all the time. Something is seriously wrong with her.

Later in science, Toby sneaks up to my seat.

"Hey," he says casually.

"Um hi?" I reply slightly confused.

"Can I borrow a pencil?" I give him a weird look.

"Please," he pleads. I give in.

"Fine, but give it back,"I tell him giving him my only spare pencil.

"Thank you!" Toby stays sitting next to me, leaning in closer.

"Now what do you want?" I ask him.

"Nothing," he replies looking over at my assessment that Mr. Soule assigned us. I look from my paper, to his eyes. I sigh.

"Are you trying to copy my work?"

"Uh...yeah actually I am, can you just move it a little closer?" He asks. I roll my eyes and obey his request.

At recess I was hanging out with Summer and Lina.

"Were you invited to Jackie's party?" Lina asks.

"Yeah," Summer replies.

"No..."I shake my head. Summer and Lina give me a pitiful look.

"What?" I ask.

"Oh, well we won't go if you can't go," Lina says. I give them an odd look.

"It is fine guys, I really don't care."

"Are you sure?" Summer asks. I nod.

"Honestly, I think Jackie will invite me, she just hasn't yet."

"Maybe...." Lina replies. Summer rummages through her backpack.

"Hey Paris, can I borrow a pencil, I can't find mine," Summer asks.

"Yeah sure." I open my backpack and look for a pencil, then I remembered I lent it to Toby.

"Sorry Summer, I gave my spare to Toby." I look at my friends who were giving me surprised look,"What?"

"Toby?" Lina asks. I nod my head. Summer and Lina look at each other.

"You like Toby?" Summer blurts. My eyes widen.

"No!" I exclaim shocked," Of course not!" Summer and Lina laugh.

"Of course you do, you gave him your pencil," Summer laughs. Kailah walks over to my annoying friends and joins in.

"Who are we laughing at?" Kailah asks.

"Paris likes Toby and she thinks she can fool us," Lina answers. Kailah starts to laugh.
