I ran as fast as I could. It isn't safe for Toby to be alone with Jackie. I don't care if I am putting my life on the line to save his. I just really really like him. I arrive at the hole leading to the furnace room. Do I have enough strength to pull myself up? I grab on the the edge of the hole and start to lift myself, but I just couldn't. I struggled up the hole, until I couldn't even hold myself up on the ledge. I collapse onto the dirty floor.
"Paris!" Calls my friends who were chasing me.
"What would you take off like that?" Rose asks," Toby is ok."
"No he isn't!" I exclaim," Jackie lead us here. It was a trap!"
"How do you know?" Samantha asks intrigued in my accusation.
"Jackie isn't a good person, she made herself trustworthy so we would let her in on our plan. Don't you think it was a little odd how Jackie arrived at the furnace room before us," I tell them.
"I thought it was odd,"Jake confesses," We were all supposed to meet at the furnace room at the same time."
"Jackie came here first so she could cut the phone lines and shut down the cell service in this area. Jackie has been fooling us this whole time and now she is with Toby!"
"Jackie wouldn't hurt Toby, she loves him," John tells me.
"Who do you think is the one who cut the disco ball in the first place? I mean she must have tried to get me, but instead she got Toby," I explain," I mean she might not be after Toby but she is still up there, and there is no point in being down here when two major threats are upstairs."
My friends look at each other and then at me. They all nod a the same time. I grab on to the ledge and John hoists me up out of the hole. I help John pull the others up. Once everyone is out of the hole we start on the ladder. I open to the door that leads to the gym. I gasp. There was a group of teenagers still banging on the door. A couple teenagers were sprawled out on the floor. And rest of the teenagers were just running around screaming. Eric was laughing manically holding a gun in one hand and a knife in the other. Toby was still passed out on the floor and Jackie and Summer were still by his side. I run over to him, contemplating what should I do when I get there. Should I act like I don't know Jackie is a traitor or should I just push her? Pushing her seems pretty tempting, but I am not sure that is the right way to go. I mean I don't know what tricks she has up her sleeve. I decide to act like nothing is wrong. I slowly walk over there.
"Has anything changed?" I ask. Jackie shakes her stroking Toby's head. Is it bad that I am jealous of her? "Where are the others?" I ask.
"We don't know. Everyone just kind of disappeared. I am kind of worried," Summer says," I mean I hope Eric hasn't already got them."
"I hope he hasn't. I saw Lina and Bryce about 15 mintues ago, and I met up with Rose and Jake."
"Well Keeley tried confronting Eric," Jackie tells us,"And well....that didn't go well." Jackie motions me towards a limp body.
"What happened?" I demand.
"He hit her with the gun and knocked her out,"Jackie answers.
"Why didn't he just shoot her?" I ask.
"Eric won't use a gun to shoot," Jackie tells us.
"Why?"
"I don't know...just something he doesn't do."
"Then why does he have a gun?" I ask.
"Well it is a scare tactic, and he can use it to knock people out."
