Screaming. High pitched screams coming from both genders. People banged on the door, panicking to get outside. My legs were fixed in an odd position. I was sprawled out across the middle of the gym room floor, and hanging dangerously above me was the giant disco ball.
"Paris!" Exclaimed a voice in panick. I turn my head towards that voice. It was Toby. I tried my hardest to get up off the floor, but I had no strength. I don't know how much time I had before the disco ball would fall and shatter on top of me. Toby looked at the disco ball and he immediately started running to me. It was all in slow motion. Just like my dream. His hands pushed me away from harms way. The disco ball started to fall. I couldn't move, all I could do is scream. He realized his fate and started to cover his face. I screamed louder than anyone in the gym. All the panicking students looked to the middle and saw the disco ball shatter on top of Toby. Glass pieces laid everywhere. Toby's body didn't move. There was blood everywhere. I use all the strength in my body to lift myself off of the ground. I run over to his limp body.
"Toby..." I whisper slightly shaking his body. I put my ear close to his mouth. I hear faint breathing coming from him. His chest also rose and fell. I am relieved. Now that Toby is ok, I have to save the rest of the student body. I walk over to the group of panicking students. They were banging on the door and screaming. I find my group.
"Guys we have to find Eric!" I tell them loudly. They were all stricken with fear, but slowly left the door and followed me away from the big crowd.
"What happened to Toby!" Jackie screams.
"Did you not hear the disco ball fall!" I exclaim, but she didn't hear me. Jackie was already racing to Toby's side, like a good girlfriend would do.
"Toby! Toby!" She panicks shaking him hard.
"Don't do that!" I exclaim," We don't know the injuries he has. Doing that could just make it worse!"
"We have to move him out of here!" Jackie places her hands around Toby's waist and starts to lift him up.
"Stop!" Rose exclaims," Moving him could only make it worse!"
"Well what should I do?"
"Just leave him!" Rose replies.
"Jackie, you and someone else stay here and watch Toby. The rest of us will look for Eric," I instruct everyone. Jackie and Summer stay behind, while the rest of us split up into pairs and look for Eric and Terra. I choose John as my partner, because I wanted to be with a guy and he is the only one I feel closest to right now.
"Where should we look?" John asks. I look up around the room for a trail.
"Maybe we should go back to the furnace room and look there," I suggest.
"I guess so, I mean there aren't many places to hide." We rush over to the door leading into the furnace room and climb down the ladder. Lina and Bryce were already down there investigating.
"Have you found anything?" I ask Lina.
"Nope, absolutely nothing."
"Has anyone called 9-1-1?" Bryce asks.
"I tried," John tells us," But someone disconnected the phone lines and hacked into the system and shut down the cell service."
"How did Eric do that?" Lina asks," Where are the school's phone lines even located?"
"Maybe somewhere underground," I suggest. I think for a bit. Maybe the furnace room isn't the lowest level in the school.... "On the count of 3, everyone jump."
