Lorenzo's Point Of View:
"Wait what?" Rose said interrogatively.
I quickly panic. "Of course, that's not true. I mean you're great, and all but. Actually, you more than great your amaz-"
"Enzo, just stop talking. I get it, you're amazing too," she says amusingly.
"Anyway, so how do you think this happened?"
"So when y'all were in the bathroom, they finna come up to me right,"
At this point, I'm slightly regretting telling her this. Was this the best decision? Yes, yes it was, this is the right thing to do.
"And they gonna have the nerve to say I'm always hanging out wit' you," I say.
"Okay, keep going," She says, spinning her right hand in a circular motion.
"Then I tell them I still hang out with them during games and some weekends. Then Calvin is gonna have the audacity to say sometimes, then claim I'm in love wit' you. Which obviously I'm not," I emphasize.
"Wow." She says while mysteriously looking at Ananya, slightly giving her a slight death stare.
"You know what, let's just go back to listening to music. Oooh, how about Close friends?"
I've never heard "Close Friends" but I know it's a Lil Baby song. I've heard lil snippets of "Drip Too Hard" It was a pretty good song. So I'm expecting a good song now.
I hear the beat and begin to bob my head, as I hear him rap,
"We started off as close friends,
Somehow you turned into my girlfriend,
We used to tell each other everything,
I even went and bought her diamond rings, matching earrings."
And Rose sings to it. Honestly, I don't get how I haven't heard this before, it dropped years ago. Shit, I know before 2020.
The verse makes me think of her, if that would, and could ever happen to us.
I let my intrusive thoughts win and let out,
"Do you think that could ever happen to us?"
