𝐄𝐲𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ; 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝

EIGHT

Edwin repeatedly hit the bracelet he had on against the pillar in hopes of breaking it free "Edwin you should stop, its hurting my ears." Frances put her hands over her ears, wanting the loud banging to stop "Charles tried picking the lock, I cannot go through the mirror to the office, no mirror travel. Other suggestions?" He kept banging on the pillar "You could start counting cats. like, counting them as fast as you can" Crystal said while she fixed her bed sheets, supposedly the cat king put a bracelet on Edwin's wrist and in order for it to come off he has to count every cat in the city.

"That cat king would not give me something that easy. He's a trickster"  Charles paced in a straight line "oh right, he tricked my wary partner into allowing that bracelet to happen"
 Charles leaned on the wall "I think I can get it off" Frances took her hands off of her ears since Edwin stopped banging on the pillar "how?" Edwin looked unimpressed, not believing that she had a plan for the bracelet. "What are you going to do?" Charles asked "there's no way to get it off, we've tried everything" Frances put her hand on his back and walked him away from the two "I'm going to see what really happened" She whispered very quietly "Nice plan"

Frances stepped to Edwin, he had his arm out and ready so the bracelet could come off "let's take a look" Frances grabbed his arm and put her other hand directly on the bracelet, her eyes turned white. The vision led back to the cat king and queens bedroom, oddly enough.

Edwin stood straightly with a confused face, he wasn't sure where he was. "So..." The cat kings voice called out for Edwin "what should your punishment be?"  He hit Edwin's shoulder, not too harsh but more in a playful way "where did Charles go?"  Edwin asked the man with the slick back hair "Ooh Charles. Do you two have a special friendship?" The cat king walked to the side of his circular bed, where the cat queen laid on, she had a smirk on her face the whole time.

" we are best friends, if you must know" The cat queen chuckled "now that's a lie" Scarlet  finally spoke up "This is a safe place. My kingdom is all about want and pleasure" "A lot of pleasure" Edwin furrowed his eyebrow at Scarlet's comment, not knowing what she meant by that. "can we clear up this magic leash business? I don't see the harm in one little spell." Scarlet sighed "oh really?" She got up on her elbows while she still laid down "you shouldn't have done that." Scarlet warned the boy "Oh no, you don't? You are so oddly handsome." The cat king's new plan was to cast a spell on Edwin, to tell him that one small spell can be harmful.  "you fascinate me"  The similar purple smoke went around his body, he didn't turn into a cat though. He changed his clothes, he had no shirt on making his abs visible, a furry coat around his shoulders and long pants. "Isn't he hot?" Scarlet decided to get up from the bed to get a better view of the shirtless man. The cat king stood in front of Scarlet, his hand on her sharp jawline. He slowly leaned into Scarlet's face and put his lips on hers, they both slowly and seductively kissed each other. In Scarlet's hand was the spell bracelet, she put it inside the cat kings coat pocket, for her reward the cat king bit down on her lips which made her moan.

The cat king went to Edwin, he moved his head close to Edwin's ear, that's when he put the bracelet on Edwin's wrist "What the bloody hell is this?" Edwin asked when he felt the golden bracelet wrap around his wrist "oh that?" Well, it's your punishment. It's a caging spell. It keeps you in this town" The cat king walked away from Edwin "You can't leave. Not in a car, in a boat, in a plane, on a train and definitely, definitely not through a mirror" The cat king explained, he grabbed Scarlet's waist and brought her down on the bed, next to him.  "The spell isn't that bad. I have one too and its amazing"  Scarlet showed Edwin the visible bracelet "Now, she wanted it. She didn't hurt my cats like you did."

"Unacceptable. Kindly remove it." Edwin held his arm out, waiting for the cat king to take it off  "we cannot stay here, it's dangerous." Scarlet hummed "and what you did to our cat was dangerous" Scarlet had a strong hatred for Edwin, mainly for what he did to the poor cat. "What was it you just said to me? 'I don't see a harm in one little spell'" He repeated Edwin's words "look it comes right off as soon as you make me happy" Scarlet smirked while she played with the silver necklace wrapped around the cat kings neck, she new what the cat king wanted and its freaky.

"Then what would make you happy?" Edwin asked as he wanted the bracelet to come off right away "what does it look like?" Scarlet looked down at the cat king's shirtless body "why else did you think he changed his clothes?"  Edwin backed up once he realized "it's really fun" The cat king chuckled at his queens response, he lowered his face in the croak of her neck and kissed it , then he scraped her neck with his teeth, her heart rate went up a notch. "Aren't you two together? Why would you be okay with his suggestion to take this off?" Edwin pointed down at the bracelet, he didn't fully understand why Scarlet didn't mind if Edwin did agree to make the cat king happy. "Well of course we're together" he answered when he stopped kissing Scarlet's neck "How else would she be my queen?" 

"We're polyamorous."  Scarlet answered his question "what does that mean exactly?"  Scarlet sighed before explaining "it means we like to add someone else into our relationship... make it more.. fun and freakier." Edwin had a disgusted and confused expression "Wouldn't that be cheating?" "No, we both agreed to it."

The cat king yawned "I'm bored. He's clearly too old fashioned for this." The cat king gently moved Scarlet away from him so he would be able to get up the bed and talk to Edwin "So I will give you another option. Count all the cats in Port Townsend, and then the bracelet will come off." 

Frances eyes went back to normal, her cheeks were redder than a tomato after seeing the vision, her eyes were wide just the way her mouth was "oh my gosh." Was all the came out of her mouth "what did you see?" Charles asked her out of curiosity, before she could reply Edwin dragged her away out of the room "So that was your plan, huh?" Edwin was furious that she lied to him "you nearly had a sex party with the king and queen?" Edwin dragged Frances into her room and shut the door "No, I didn't. He suggested It and I denied." Frances mouth was still opened "I need to tell the others" Edwin stopped Frances from doing so "You can't tell them. I do not want them to know. If you do, you will be kicked from dead boy detectives. Do you understand." 

Him kicking Frances out meant her not being able to solve cases with Charles and Crystal, however it was important to tell the others what the cat king did to him "I am being serious." He looked dead in her eyes "fine. But I have a question" Edwin tilted his head with his eyebrows raised "Why did you deny it?" "Because I did not want to get involved with their relationship, why?" "Because that cat king is hot." Edwin hummed "I would say yes in a heartbeat." Frances added on "Well, I did not need to imagine that. Thank you for that image."

okay this chapter isn't THAT important but I wanted to add it because when I watched this scene I couldn't stop blushing, why is the cat king so FINE?!? am I the only one who thinks that.
