After everyone calmed down from the incident, they all walked close to the shore to take a closer look about what truly happened and where the voice came from. "You okay?" Charles asked Frances, who's head was held down "Yeah- i'm fine." She said, her voice was soft and barely audible. After seeing a figure that looked so similar to her brother, she got emotional. Her memories of her and him playing outside made her realize how much she truly missed him, it also made her realize how long shes been hiding her true emotions for the past years.
"Are you sure? If you like, I can take you back to the butcher shop-" He suggested, he wanted to know whether she wanted to solve the case or not "I'll be fine, Charles. No worries." She finally looked up at him, her eyes in a pink shade with her tear stained face "Let me know if you hear the voice again, alright?" Frances nodded her head at the boy "Will do." With that being said, she put both of her pale hands inside of her pockets while she looked at the ocean.
"Have we lost Niko?" Edwin looked around the surroundings, Niko nowhere to be seen. "What is she doing.." Crystal looked behind Edwin, Niko was on her knees while looking at the ground "I'll take a peak." Edwin turned around and started to walk to the white haired teenager "I never thought Edwin would have a mate other than me" Charles hummed as he watched Edwin and Niko talk "Me neither" Crystal agreed with the curly head ghost "Niko is nice, who wouldn't be friends with her."Frances picked her head up, staring at them both "Wait- why is it glowing red over there-" In Edwins hands, something red was bright, all a sudden the whole atmosphere changed.
The sky was a shade of red and it also felt different "Where are we?" Frances asked with a worried tone, wanting to know what Edwin did. "I'm not sure..." Edwin replied. Frances looked down at the ground, a woman with long brown hair sat down while twisting clothes into the water "what are you in need of? Ask me." Frances kept quiet, not knowing what happened or how it happened.
"Is this the washer woman?" Edwin questioned, his voice full of curiosity. "It must've been when I picked up the red sea glass." Niko told them, finally informing them what changed the sky red "sea glass changes the sky?" Frances looked over at Niko, her eyebrows raised "I guess so?" She shrugged her shoulder, her red jacket ruffling as she did so.
"This is the blood of mankind. Past, present and future. I see their lives, feel their pain. I cry for them.. but the burden is mine." The women kept squeezing the red clothes in her hands, the blood pouring out into the deep blue "So you can see the future too? Cool.." Niko slowly nod her head up and down. Out of nowhere, a loud scream of some sort was heard, Frances immediately put her hands over her ears, trying to block the noise "son of a bitch!" She cursed out loudly, hating the sound as it ripped her ear drums.
"What in the hell was that? "Crystal asked once the sound stopped "not sure we want the answer to that." Edwin replied. Frances took her hands off of her ears, she heard a small but quiet ringing sound in her ears afterwards, making her annoyed. "What?" Charles whispered after noticing her annoyed expression "Ringing ears now" In response, Charles just hummed before looking back at the woman with the bloody clothes.
"I appear before you because your need is deep. I need to save lives. Less blood to wash away... Ask me.." Her voice echoed throughout the air, making the situation more creepy. Charles took a step forward, one inch closer to the weird woman "Miss washer woman..." he gulped before continuing "We're looking for what's killing people near the lighthouse. There's three dead already. Can you help us?"
"These waters are filled with strange beasts as old as the sound itself. Storms wake them. They feed." She sort of answered Charles question while grabbing another cloth with blood stained on it "like sirens or mermaids?" Frances looked at the girl, not believing that Niko would think it was a mermaid of some sort.
"Something much larger." Edwin started to walk closer to the brunette "a sea monster.. how do we kill it?" Frances looked over at Edwin, watching his every move to make sure nothing bad happens to him "Measure for measure, it must play until it tires"
The sky turned back to normal and the woman disappeared "Wheres Crystal?" Frances asked, not seeing Crystal anywhere "Shes with the washer woman." Edwin answered shortly before Crystal appeared again "What happened?" Charles rushed over to her "I asked her who I am.. she just... she just gave me another riddle" Crystal threw her hands up, disappointed that she didn't get an answer she was looking for. "When the ground moves and the bird cries, stop looking without and look within." Crystal took her hands off of her forehead "A bird cries? Is it sad?" "I have no clue"
"We'll help you after we figure out about this sea beast" Frances promised her, wanting to help her friend with her problems "thanks." Crystal had a small smile on her face.
