Frances opened Crystal's room door where both of the dead boys currently stayed in "We got a guy named Dagfinn who'll only speak directly to the dead boy detectives-" Crystal spoke up, the man with the white beard and a sweater walked into the room "MOVE!" He shouted with anger "jeez what's his problem.." Frances mumbled herself, something serious must've happened to him.
"I need someone to get these damn ghosts out of my lighthouse." He balled his fist while starring at Edwin and Charles "wait- wait... your name is Dagfinn?" Charles asked the older ghost man, not believing that he has such a horrible name "Aye! and I've been haunting the lighthouse at Point No Point for decades. The last two days people start showing up, throwing themselves off the widows walk and into the sound. The bad part is, I got these extra ghosts of the newly dead sulking and loitering. If I wanted to be around people, i'd haunt at Dennys." Dagfinn explained what's been happening to him and his lighthouse, seemed like people were committing suicide for the last two days, strange.
"Have the police been there? It's a small town, they'd know." Niko asked Dagfinn "There are no bodies! Gone, soon as they hit the water. So the police don't know anything, far as I can tell." Frances glanced at the two girls before speaking up "So, they just.... jump off your lighthouse? No form of regret or backing away?" Dagfinn turned his head "nope! Just gone like that" He snapped his two fingers, saying they die quickly
"quite unusual for ghosts to collect like that. There must be a reason they're lingering..... now as for our fee..." Edwin brought up the payment method "Yes yes! I can pay you with some saltwater taffy and a cursed Magic 8 ball that tells you when you're gonna die" Frances liked the idea of a magic 8 ball actually being magic "sold!" Frances yelled out, causing everyone to look in her direction "I want to know when i'm going to die" She put her hands in her pockets "It is pretty cool" Charles crossed his arms "It's true. We do not have anything like it in our collection..." Edwin glanced at the older man "all signs point to a yes! let's have a go at it and save some ghost too"
TIME SKIP
The view of the lighthouse was beautiful, the ocean waves hitting against the bricks, the sun shinning bright, such a shame a beautiful place can hide some dark secrets. "wow this place totally looks like those fish-sticks commercials that I love" Frances looked over at her right, where the white haired girl stood "Wait- are you talking about the spicy fish sticks?" Niko smiled widely "yes! My favorite!" Frances remembered seeing those fish sticks in a store while back, she didn't like the taste since she hates spicy stuff. "I hated it.." Niko's facial expression turned from happy to a frown "oh... well agree to disagree!"
"It seems pretty peaceful to me.." Crystal commented on the atmosphere "Maybe that lighthouse keeper was a grump who likes to complain." Charles started to doubt Dagfinn's claims "or maybe the beauty of it attracts bad spirits. Like my brothers old school, beautiful private school with an outstanding garden, only to find out four murders took place in the building." Charles mouth turned into an O shape "that got dark quickly...." Niko mumbled "Well, unfortunately sometimes beauty has its bad sides." Francs shrugged, although she misses her brother, there's no way he's coming back unless he escapes heaven, but who would want to do that to come back to Earth? No one.
"You can say that again. David keeps getting on my nerves" Crystal gritted her teeth, remembering when David got into her mind at Hudson's house "Maybe I can go in your mind and sort things out?" Crystal quickly shook her head "no. Don't, he'll probably get into your mind too... you don't want that neither do I." Frances nod at her friend who worried about her safety.
"She must be enjoying the view" Frances looked up at the red and white lighthouse, a woman with long hair blowing in the wind stood on the railing "What is she doing?" Crystal asked while starring "I think she's going to jump-" After Frances said that, the woman jumped into the moving waves "Oh shit" Frances cursed loudly after witnessing a death.
"Found them" Charles said, the three ghost who committed suicide sat on the bridge while starring at the ocean "these new ghosts are suffering from unusual melancholia. They seem to just stare out at the sea and wander back to the lighthouse." Frances looked at the three ghost, confusion on her face on why they didn't move or talk, all they did was stare. "Ghost of suicide usually wander the Earth, right? These lots are just lingering, it's weird." Frances nod her head at Charles statement "maybe they're near sided and just fell off the lighthouse.." Frances turned around at Niko, as so everyone else, "Really Niko?" Niko shrugged "a lot of people are near sided.." Frances sighed "maybe they dealt with some shit and couldn't handle it anymore... a lot of people feel like that" Charles looked at Frances, sadness in his eyes when he saw the way Frances looked, she had a frown on her face while looking at the road, most likely thinking about her dead brother.
"You called in this?" A sheriff walked over to the teens with a notepad "All right what did you see?" She got ready to write with her small pen in her hands "There was a woman at the top, and then she jumped down in the water." Niko explained to the lady "Now are you from Port Townsend?" The sheriff looked up and down at Niko, weirded out by her bright red outfit she wore "We all rent rooms above Tongue and Tail Butcher shop" Crystal answered, the sheriff looked at Frances, she decided to wave her hand "I'm new here... sort of..." Frances trailed off "I can tell.. anyways did you get a good look at her?"
"Yeah, we did." Frances looked at Crystal "Oh right, um mid 20's, small frame, red hair." Crystal described her appearance as "She had on a pretty nightgown.... it was sort of airy.." Niko smiled "Oh and she was very pale" Frances added on to the appearance "All right, small frame, red hair, pale and an airy nightgown."
"It sounds like you don't believe us.." The sheriff stopped writing on her notepad "Three kids who look like they should be in school, living an itinerant lifestyle, probably high, saw a lady leap to her death but she left no trace? Sounds like a prank" Frances bit her lip before snapping "So you think we would lie about a woman committing suicide? Do you think every teenager just do drugs and pull stupid pranks? I, myself, hate drugs and would never do it. Maybe you should actually do your job and write everything we tell you, because what we saw was real and not a lie. You know, I don't think your manager would like to hear your attitude." Before the sheriff could respond at the girl, a older woman walked over.
"Everything okay here?"The grey haired woman looked at the cop "Yup, just a girl with a horrible attitude..." Frances smiled with her thumbs pointing at her face "and a sheriff who can't do her job!" The sheriff flicked Frances a middle finger before walking away from the situation "what happened?" The old woman put her hands in her long coat "We saw a woman jump from the lighthouse" Frances told her "Girl, I believe that you believe you saw something. Come chat in the gift shop.. I'll make you some tea and we'll talk it through" "Were good.." Crystal said but Niko had other plans "I'd like some tea." Niko followed the woman "It's fine, I',m gonna ask her some questions, get really good intel." Edwin appeared again with Charles "way to take initiative Niko. The sign of a great detective." "Thank you.." After that, Niko ran off to the shop.
"Great way to handle the sheriff, Frans." Charles said from behind, Frances, turned around with a smile "thank you. I don't like people like her." They both stared at each other with a smile "I can feel the sexual tension. You two please just get it done with" Frances stopped smiling and looked at Crystal, her mouth in a straight line "please shut up." Frances told Crystal, it was clear Crystal will never stop shipping them two "I won't complain." Frances rolled her brown eyes "I'm so tired of you two"
A orange kitten scratched Edwin's legs "Ow!" He sucked in his teeth "one hundred and forty two" Edwin wandered off after the cat, mostly likely the cat king and queen "oooh cat king?" Frances raised her brow "I hope not." Charles bit the inside of his cheek "why not? He's hot" Frances smirked, remembering the vision she saw when she touched Edwin's arm "The cat king out of everybody? Are you serious?" Charles asked with a hint of jealous "Mhm"
