---Evelyn's POV---

"I'm pregnant," Kyla says making me lift my head with wide eyes as she laughs, "I'm not but you aren't paying attention to me," she grins as I throw a pillow at her.

"I'm sorry. Lando was here late last night so I couldn't finish my work," I tell her as she uses the pillow I threw at her to get comfy, "I was listening. You said Charles got his hand stuck in a pipe or something," I tell her briefly lifting my head.

"Girl, what the hell are you saying? I said, Charles got me a purse that costs more than a month's rent and I don't know how to give it back to him," She says as I give her an apologetic look.

"Wait, why don't you want it?" I ask putting my laptop down to get a drink, "Didn't you just buy him a ring from this expensive jewelry store in town?"

"Well...yeah but like..." she says fumbling on her words.

"Just take the damn purse. Do you want to know what Lando got me as a gift?" I ask as she sits up on the couch to see me, "An extra packet of ketchup for my chicken tenders," I laugh.

"Now that's romance," she says as I nod my head coming back with another slice of pizza and an iced tea. Tonight we were supposed to have a girl's night but now it's us doing work while talking. She finished her shit an hour ago and I'm trying to finish as much as possible but my brain isn't working anymore, "I texted Charles that we were having a girl's night in when he asked to come over and now he is outside," She says as I raise an eyebrow.

"That dude is obsessed with you and I fully understand why," I tell her as the front door opens, "Nice of you to knock Lechair," I tease as he smiles. I see a bag of donuts in his hand and he walks over handing them to me, "Actually you never have to knock," I say as he leans down giving Kyla a kiss.

"Ugh now I'm a third wheel and have to watch you two be all cuddly and gross," I complain as the door opens again. Lando is giggling as he locks the door behind him and jumps on the couch next to me. My laptop almost falls onto the floor as he kisses the side of my head, "What is with you people?".

"Charles said we were having a movie night," He says as I look at the man. He is already under a blanket with Kyla looking as snug as a bug in a rug. He goes to take my laptop so I grab his arm making I'm grimace. I look at him confused as he gives me a look. I tell the other two I'll be right back so I can put my laptop away and Lando follows me. I put my laptop down and lift his sleeve before he can stop me and my eyes widen, "It's not as bad as you think. I crashed on my bike and it doesn't even hurt that badly," he says pulling his sleeve down. I grab the bottom of his hoodie and lift it as he tries to push my hands away. There are abrasions all over his torso where he broke his ribs two months prior. He grimaces as he puts his arm down so he can cover them back up.

"Did you have another race?" I ask wanting to cry from how bad it looks.

"I promise it's not that bad and I'm handling it," he says brushing his thumb under my right eye as a tear spills, "Baby...no more secrets remember? This is nothing. I've been riding dirt bikes my entire life this happens sometimes," He says.

I lean my head on his chest as he pulls me in and kisses the top of my head, "I hate you for making me cry tonight," I whisper as he chuckles, "Also..." I say trailing off before he rolls his eyes taking chocolate out of his pocket, "Thank you," I smile.

"After last night I don't know if I trust being around you on your period. You ate my chocolate cake and tried to blame it on a dog you don't even have," he says as I pull away from him laughing.

"Okay but to my defense...who doesn't eat cake right away? It was in my face for hours," I tell him.

"WE JUST FINISHED EATING," he yells walking after me as I fall onto the couch shoving a piece of the dark chocolate into my mouth.

"Oh god, not this again," Kyla says as Charles looks at us confused, "All last night the two of them were arguing over a fucking piece of chocolate cake," She fills him in. Lando and I go back and forth before he sits on the couch pouting as Kyla tells us to shut up. Charles looks very amused as he presses play on the movie they chose without us. I open the bag of donuts pull out a chocolate one and hand it to him. He's hesitant to take it before he smiles and puts his free hand around my shoulder.

"You two are children," Charles giggles.
