—Evelyn's POV—

I use my key to unlock Lando's apartment and I hear him laughing from his bedroom. After discarding my shoes and my purse I walk down his hallway yawning from work. I open the door and he turns his head smiling. I walk over and wrap my arms around him with a hug, resting my chin on his shoulder. His hand rubs my arm as I close my eyes, "Hey baby," he whispers as I look at his screen.

"Whatcha playing?" I ask.

"I'm streaming Call of Duty with Max and Alex," he says making me widen my eyes.

"Oh shit sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt," I say as he smiles with a laugh. The game is still loading so he takes his headphones off and mutes himself.

"How was your day?" He asks as I stand out of frame, "I'm getting off soon if you want to order food. My card is in my wallet," he says.

"Sounds good. Sorry for getting on stream. If I knew I would have stayed at home," I tell him as he grabs his headphones and motions me over. He puts them in my head and tells me to look into the camera.

"Hello?" I say hearing Max scream as they load in and he dies.

"EVELYN, TELL YOUR STUPID BOYFRIEND TO STOP WALKING IN FRONT OF MY GRENADES SO I DIE," Alex screams as I turn to him laughing.

"Will do. What are some of these comments?" I say out loud reading a couple. Lando pulls me into his lap so I can sit and read some of them and immediately the fans go crazy.

"Does Lando sleep naked?" I read out loud as I turn to him confused, "I can assure you he does not," I giggle. Lando keeps playing as I just answer questions about the guys. I'm surprised how fun it is, "No Alex isn't secretly two feet tall," I say making the guys lose it, "Max, do you think you're Pookie?" I ask him.

"Pookie?" He questions as I shake my head.

"Yes, I would classify Max as a Pookie," I say as Lando looks offended, "you guys are getting me in trouble". Lando speaks into the mic telling the guys where he is going as he pulls me closer with his hands in front of my stomach playing, "I have no idea how long Lando and I have been dating. We are both terrible at keeping track of anniversaries or birthdays," I say as Lando smiles against my shoulder.

"Last question so I can go order food," I say scrolling through the chat, "My favorite moment this year has to be watching Max spin out and Lando winning the Miami GP," I say like it's obvious.

"Evelyn, you're the worst," Max says.

"I would like to clarify that Max doesn't actually hate Evelyn. They are best friends," Alex says as the chat explodes.

"Nope, he's lying. Hate the bitch. Praying for their downfall," he says as I hand the headset back to Lando.

"Max said he's in love with you and wishes I wasn't your girlfriend," I lie since he couldn't hear anything.

"Awww Maxie," he says as I get up off his lap. He streams for another forty minutes and when he walks into the kitchen I'm just unpacking the Chinese food I ordered, "The fans loved you," he says as he grabs two cups from the cabinet.

"I can't wait for the edits of you from this stream," I tell him walking with him to the couch, "I love fangirls. They fuel my delusions".

"I know I see you liking edits of everyone," he says as I laugh.

"I like seeing my friends hyped up," I tell him, "Oh shoot before I forget. Your lawyer needs you to go to his office to sign some documents. My father has been trying to contact me the past couple of days and it's a mess," I tell him.

"Really? Are you okay?" He asks as my smile falters a little.

"I'm fine. I mean I won't lie it's weird picking up a phone call and hearing him talk. I went half my life without worrying about him and then bam...he's just there," I tell him opening my pack of chopsticks. The first call took me by surprise. He wanted to me visit him and talk to him. He thinks I can help him get out of police custody. The way he was begging me to help him made me sick to my stomach. So after that call, I've started receiving more from his lawyer and I've been letting them go to voicemail.

"Why didn't you tell me when he called for the first time?" He asks.

"You were busy and I didn't want to bother you about it," I tell him as I eat my first bite, "this shit is so good".

"Eve," he says making me look up at him. He looks worried as he takes the food from my hands and puts it on the table, "It's okay not to be okay about all this. You've been powering through everything only worrying about my feelings. This is your father there have got to be unresolved feelings that are being dug up," he says as I sit there silently, "The last thing I want is for you to hide your feelings because I'm busy," he says.

I got to speak when I felt my throat get tighter. I've only been focusing on work and helping Lando get out of this. My father has been in custody for about a week now and I never really let myself sit and think about everything happening, "I love you...but I promise I'm fine," I tell him.

"I just don't want you to feel like a burden," he says touching my cheek.

"I don't. Now eat or the food will get cold," I tell him as I grab my bowl off the table and grab the remote. The truth is I don't want to think about it. When I'm talking with his lawyer it's just some scumbag who's taking advantage of him. I don't even see him as my father anymore. He's just a man in the world who happens to share the same DNA as me.
