—Evelyn's POV—

Chris sends me an email with all the information I need to give to the police in Monaco. Lando knows two other racers that are being blackmailed by my father so we are keeping Lando's name anonymous. He can't have this ruining his career. Lando leans over me looking at my computer and then at the time, "You should come to bed," he whispers as I lean back.

"Not yet. I'll meet you there I just have to do a couple more things. Your lawyer needs these by tomorrow morning," I tell him.

"How do you know all this stuff?" He asks as I take a sip from the coffee I made hours ago. I grimace at the coldness of it and Lando takes it from my hands. I follow him into the kitchen and he starts making me tea instead.

I smile watching him make an "authentic British cup of tea" he was appalled by how I made it. It was basically the same thing, "I took some classes in criminal justice in college and a summer course on criminal law," I tell him.

"Did you want to do that before you picked your career now?" He asks.

I move my head back and forth, "For a little bit but I wasn't cut out for it. I did a small internship at the court house though. That was a blast," I tell him.

"I swear every day I learn something new about you," he says as he waits for the bag to steep.

"That's what keeps things fun," I tell him as he turns his head to look at my smile, "It's not if those things you just randomly say either. It's not my go-to two truths and a lie question," I point out.

"Still, I want to know everything about you," he says as he hands me the tea. I thank him and walk back to the computer seeing it's one-thirty in the morning.

"You have practice in the morning. Go to bed. I'll be there soon," I tell him. He rubs his face in exhaustion and kisses me before saying goodnight. I sit down and get back to work.

I hear Lando walking into the living room and turn my head seeing him fully dressed for the day, "You did not just stay up all night doing this did you?" He asks as I see the sun is out. I check the time and see it's 7 in the morning.

"I may have...but it was fun for me," I tell him as he slams the laptop shut. I stand up and he gives me a concerned look when he sees the Red Bull can on the table.

"You're insane go to bed. I'll be back when you wake up," he says as he walks to grab his keys.

"Oh Lando," I whisper making him turn to me, "Don't worry about going to the street race tomorrow...my father is going to have some unwanted guests show up at his house in a few hours," I smile as I walk into his bedroom. His face doesn't process the news until I hear him walking down the hallway. He swings the door open and I'm plugging my phone in on the nightstand.

"What did you just say?" He asks.

"Chris and I solidified the case and sent it to your lawyer. They reviewed it and that's why I was up all night. I was waiting for his response. Also, the time differences made it hard to communicate back and forth," I ramble as he cuts me off with a kiss.

"How are you real?" He says between kisses, "You've been in my life for a year and everything that you touch turns to gold".

"Stop, now you're being a dork. Everything is all you...okay this was me but still," I laugh.

"Just let me compliment you. Every time I call you pretty you tell me to shut up," he says.

"Well....shut up," I tell him as he pins my hands above my head. I look up at him and he leans down kissing me one final time.

"Just let me love you," he argues.

"Fine. I will take the appreciation," I sigh fighting the smile on my lips, "You shouldn't shave," I tell him as he lets go of my hand. I reach up touching the patch of hair on his chin.

"Thank you for the compliment how nice of you," he says mocking me, "That's a normal reaction to a compliment. If I said shut up every time you've made some comment about me you'd never speak," he says.

"I do not compliment you that much," I argue.

"Oh Lando you're so hot. Lando, you look so good in your fireproof. Lando this Lando that," he teases in a high-pitched voice.

"I do not sound like that"

"You kind of do," he smirks.

"Go away. You have practice and I will not be blamed for your lateness," I say pushing him off. He gets up and jogs away with a loud giggle as I lean on my elbows and watch him disappear down the hall. I collapse onto the bed and wrap the blanket around me smelling Lando's cologne. This is the best place to sleep.
