--Evelyn's POV--
Lando immediately calls me after his race giggling from happiness, "I knew it," I whisper as the sound of fans going crazy in the background fills the phone, "That last overtake on Checco was absolutely insane. Kyla and I were screaming at the tv when you almost spun out," I tell him.
"I think the only way I'll get a win is if you're at my next race," he says as I laugh, "Seriously, I need you there next race. Then I won't have to call".
"Yeah, let me just quit my job cause I'm calling out so much," I tell him knowing there is nothing I'd rather do more than be at his races, "When you come home, we can plan something for a future race so I can get some signs made to cheer you on for real," I joke.
"I have to go but I wanted to hear your voice before I got the trophy," he says as I walk back into the kitchen to watch. I say a quick bye as people call Lando's name to tell him where to go.
"He is so whipped," She jokes as I collapse onto the couch to watch. The commercials play as I glare at her with a side eye, "Oh Evelyn, will you please let me hang out with you? Oh Evelyn, I can't go a day without talking to you," she says sounding like a southern belle.
"You are ruthless," I tell her holding back my laughter.

"This is not what I thought you had in mind when you said something about a girl's night," I tell Kyla as we walk into a busy bar. Nothing cures a hangover like the hair of a dog. She tells me to find the girls as she goes to the bar. I see them in the back and hurry over sitting down next to Becca. She immediately pulls me into the drama that is happening. Kyla comes over nearly ten minutes complaining about the line. I thank her as she slides me a vodka cran.
The six of us talk about guys and I'm thankful the conversation changes when it comes to my turn. Kyla is itching to bring it up but she knows I hate talking about my own life. The only people I really talk to talk to are her and Lando. It's weird how quickly I've opened up to him.
"What are we feeling tonight? Just a girl's night or are some of us not going home alone?" Juliette asks.
"I will watch our bags if you guys want to go dance," I tell them as Kyla looks at me confused. It's a look only I pick up on as the rest of the girls thank me and go towards the dance floor. I take my phone out as I sip on my drink and go onto Instagram. I scroll for a little before getting bored and going on Twitter. I get a few tweets down see Lando is trending on my feed and click on it. There are hundreds of tweets happy that he came P2 today. A video comes up of him walking out of a club so I click on it seeing a girl attached to his arm.
My heart tightens as they both get into the same cab his hand on her lower waist like he does to me. I have no right to feel this way when I agreed not to be serious. This is what we wanted. He's single and I'm single so he doesn't owe me an explanation. It's an exciting night for the team...it's not surprising he would want to celebrate, "You alright?" Kyla asks coming back to get a sip of her drink. I look up and shove my phone into my bag.
"Absolutely. I think I'm going to find someone for the night," I tell her with a smirk. I can tell she's confused by the 180 in my behavior tonight but doesn't press to find out what which I am thankful for. She tells me she will watch the bags cause Charles is texting her. I happily get up and join the other girls on the dance floor looking for tonight's man of the hour. I didn't really dress for a night on the town but I can work with what I got. I unzip my small jacket a little and fix the girls as I look around. The options tonight aren't the best if I'm honest.
"What am I doing? I'm trying to make him jealous when he is nowhere to be seen and I don't even want to find someone else," I groan leaning over my tenth drink of the night. Kyla rubs my back as Becca drunkenly agrees that men suck.
"Imagine passing up on your amazingness for some other skank," Juliette says as we all laugh at how adamant she sounds.
"She was so pretty through. And knowing Lando she's really sweet unless he did what we did and skipped the talking," I argue sipping the fruity drink through a straw, "I should become a cat lady. Who needs love when you have fun friends and endless drinks," I tell them as the bartender yells the final call. I could cry at this very moment.
"I think I should call him," I mumble as Kyla quickly takes my phone.
"That's our cue to get you home," she says as she walks to the bar to pay the tab.
"Guys it's bad. He plays golf the most boring sport in the world and I find it attractive," I whisper embarrassed by my confession. They all look at their watches and hold my hands that are on the table.
"Time of death 2:34 am," Becca says.
"For what?" I ask keeping my head down not wanting to know.
"Your self respect. Bitch screw him and get yourself someone who doesn't travel and wants to commit," She says.
"But what if I'm also scared to commit and what we have is the best thing that's happened to my "love life" in ages," I tell him putting air quotes around my love life knowing it's in shambles.
"When you decide what to do we will be here with either ice cream or celebratory shots," Juliette says making me smile.
"I love you guys," I smile as Kyla comes back over, "I am ready to pass out in bed and cry in the morning cause I have to work," I tell her as she shakes her head with a laugh.
