--Evelyn's POV--
I walk out running a towel through my hair as Lando puts his arms behind his head smiling at me, "Shouldn't you be getting ready?" I ask as he watches me walk to the dresser in his room. I grab the lotion I left here and put my leg on his bed as I put some lotion in my hands.
"This is my favorite show. I'd hate to miss it," he says as I roll my eyes, "Hey, when we were with Charles and Kyla earlier he knew a lot about her family. I feel like you never talk about yours," He says as I bite my lips. I walk back to the dresser and put the lotion down before turning to him, "You don't have to tell me but as your boyfriend, I feel like that's one of those basic things," he says as I nod my head.
"Well I have two younger sisters and an older brother...they all live in America so I don't see them ever. We call each other every once in a while but we are all living our own lives," I tell him as he sits up in bed scooching to the end to listen to me, "My mom," I smile walking into the bathroom. he follows me inside and sits on the edge of the tub as I start doing my skincare, "She raised us alone...I think my dad left when I was around 9 years old," I tell him tilting my head, trying to remember.
"Why did he leave?" He asks as I shrug my shoulders.
"He was a gambling addict and mom didn't want us around that. He was never home before he fully left anyways so as a kid I didn't really think about it that much. I mean...my mom she was enough, ya know?" I tell him as he looks like he wants to ask more questions, "Lan, just ask," I laugh.
"How old are your siblings?" he asks.
"My older brother Christian is twenty-six. Dani or Danielle is about to turn 22 in a couple of days. I just sent her a gift in the mail so hopefully she likes it, and then Lucy is 21," I tell him as I rub a serum into my skin.
"Do they live close to home?" he asks as I grab my hairbrush off the counter.
"Lucy still lives at home cause she's going to community college. Dani is a couple of hours away and then Christian is across the country. We are all kind of similar in the way we want to travel. Christian and I are the only ones who really got away though," I tell him, "I was actually trying to convince them to come here for a week but it's expensive and the apartment isn't big enough," I explain as he looks at me fully listening to what I'm saying.
"Gambling...that's," he says as I nod my head.
"I remember the one day this big guy came to our house and I think I was like eight. He sat outside waiting for my dad to show up for a week. He owed some big debt to some casino and they sent a bookie to come get him," I laugh as he looks at me concerned.
"I shouldn't have involved you in my shit," he whispers as I turn around. He stands up and leans on the counter putting his arms on either side of my body.
"Even if you don't believe it...I'm not as weak as I look," I whisper hovering my lips above his before pushing him away. He smirks at me as he jumps onto the counter of his sink, "My childhood was good. It wasn't perfect but to me, it was pretty close," I tell him.
"When was the last time you saw your dad?" he asks.
"He showed up on my eighteenth birthday to ask for money for this big trip he was taking. Christian threatened to kick the shit out of him if he didn't leave us alone. I guess he took the hint when he punched him in the face. It was the highlight of the day," I tell him. When I see the look on his face I realize not everyone is used to family drama to this extent.
