Duncan's POV

Stone Trades Corporation

2 Weeks Later

Friday

4:00 PM

While in a meeting unaware of everyone underneath the table my left leg was shaking, not because I was nervous or had a fear of this current deal would go through; it was all due to not hearing from Courtney.

I can still hear her voice saying those words when she left the cabin...

" Duncan I need some time...don't come me near, "

Those words have been echoing in my mind for weeks and no matter what I did to take my mind off hearing them I couldn't.

And if that didn't help, images of Courtney would appear in my thoughts.

I can't believe my mate asked me to leave her alone and so I did what she asked, it sucked having this feeling of not being wanted.

" Duncan " whispered Bridgette lightly tapping my shoulder along with the others gesturing me to look at the representative of the other company.

Before speaking I cleared my throat followed by giving my response, making sure to give a professional and smart response.

30 Minutes Later

We all applaud and shake hands after agreeing to the terms, then arrange a date for the contract to be signed.

As we walked out of the meeting room I sighed and removed my glasses.

" That was close," said Alejandro walking beside me "Shut it " I growled getting angry " On the bright side the deal is made," said DJ walking closer to me; most likely to make sure I don't kill anyone.

"I'll be sure to go over it again if you want," said Bridgette concerned " Did you even listen to the proposal? " Geoff asked as we got to the elevator I didn't answer. 

Taking my phone I immediately check texts again...

Sent over 2 Weeks -

Me: Hey are you okay?

Me: Is everything okay between us? If not I wanna talk in person.

Me: Babe, tell me something I'm worried

Me: Please answer me

Me: Courtney I went to the diner today and you weren't there, are you off today?

Me: You're on break from school right? Just tell me you're okay!!!

Me: Babe I'm in front of your building, I really wanna see you. I just need to see and hear you

Sighing heavily staring at my message from last night and weeks prior with no answer.
