Chapter 10
12:13 A.M.
"You know what," Queen enthusiastically said, "I'm getting nunchuks."

"I think I'll upgrade my machete. Its starting to wear out," Haru informed, grabbing a machete off a board of weapons.

"I'll probably just grab this, I don't really want anything extreme," Steve said, grabbing an FN PS90 gun from the drawers.

Connor quietly chuckled, grabbing his weapon of choice, while Ellie stood next to him, chossing a katana that was placed near Haru's machete.

Meanwhile, Hau was grabbing her own type of rifle, while complaining to Connor to choose a different weapon, since his reaper made him look like the actual grim reaper.

Kimmie quickly decided upon a double sided blade, while Scarlet settled for a curve bow with arrows and a pocket knife. Although Riley was fine with her rifle, she decided upon getting backup weapons, like a foldable spear and a credit card knife. To Jayna and Angelo, it was go big or go home. Jayna equipped herself with a holster for her handgun and her own machete, and Angelo took the liberty upon getting himself a handgun, and even a strap of grenades.

"I thought we weren't supposed to get anything dangerous?" Ellie whined, examining Angelo's grenades. Queen took a look at them and sternly said, "As long as he doesn't set them off, we're fine."

The group took some tools, like a few sleeping bags and blades, just in case they're suddenly low on supplies. They stepped out of the shop and walked over to the staircase, about to head down the parking lot and to the car, until they were greeted by an excess of rain showers.

"Quick! Upstairs!" yelled Queen, as the group carefully sprinted up the staircase and back into Kimmie's household.

"Great, we're soaked. Now what?" Haru asked annoyed.

"I think...I can make us new clothes," Kimmie suggested. Queen turned to her confused, "Clothes," she panted, "You're willing to make some? For us?"

"Sure," Kimmie replied, "I like fashion, after all."

"What about us?" asked Steve. "You're not a boy."

Kimmie scoffed, "I actually own some boy clothes. But you guys can't have them. I'll just take some stuff from my brother's room."

Kimmie smirked, going down the hall to lock the basement door, then returned to the living room. "You boys can wait here. I'll do the girls' clothes first.

The girls were gathered in Kimmie's room, some on her bed and some on her bean bag chairs. Hau'oli was walking around, looking at stuff; the posters and pictures on the walls.

Kimmie was at her closet, pulling out pieces of clothing and examining her body mannequin. Queen sighed in relief, "I'm so glad that thing is headless, and armless and legless. It would be creepy if I slept over here and it started walking and stuff."

"Don't be silly. Mannequins are just big dolls," Ellie joked.

"Wow," Hau said, "Its been a long time since I saw you without your rainbow tips."

Kimmie turned to her smiling, "Oh yeah, I took that picture on Christmas. My mum didn't want me to dye my hair," she laughed. "Anyways, what kind of outfits do you guys want?"

After telling Kimmie what they wanted, she sent Scarlet to ask the boys what they wanted.

"I want a pin with mine," Connor added, after all the boys had told Scarlet what they wanted. "And a beanie," he continued.

"This is so hard to remember...I think I'll improvise," Scarlet chuckled. She returned to the room, and told Kimmie everything she tried to remember.

"Oh, and Connor wants a pin and a beanie," she added.

"I want a pin too!" Hau'oli cheered. Kimmie nodded, motioning for Scarlet to help get clothes in Alfie's bedroom.

"Did Haru say he wanted a what again?" Kimmie questioned as they gathered clothes.

"A vest in the front, those black safety vests, or aprons or something," Scarlet said. Kimmie shrugged, grabbing whatever she could find closest to what they wanted.

When returning to Kimmie's bedroom, she pulled out a sowing machine and began.

Kimmie had created outfits which took a decent amount of time. Luckily, most of the requests were outfits that didn't need editing, only to be put together. Some outfits were plaid, some denim, some plain tees, one of them a baseball tee, a few hoodies, military pants, even a concert shirt, and most especially black.

"Hau, I was just wondering if you and Connor want to match pins?" Kimmie asked. Hau'oli laughed, "Sure!"

Kimmie nodded, handing Hau'oli two pins with a cartoon ice cream.

Lastly, Kimmie had to get some of her beanies and give them to whoever requested. She also grabbed her vans fanny pack, putting some of her stuff in it.

"You have like, a million beanies or something," Riley said. Kimmie nodded, and her and Jayna carried out the boys' clothes.

"Wow, you're finished already?" Angelo asked. Riley nodded, "We don't really plan on staying long."

"I'd like to keep my jacket. But can I take that straw hat?" Queen asked Kimmie. She nodded a yes.

"When you can't decide between shorts or pants," Haru joked, pointing at Scarlet's half pants half shorts bottom. "Its called shonts," Scarlet replied.

"I have the pins," Hau'oli said to Connor, handing him the pin and his beanie. He placed the pin on the beanie, while Hau placed it on her shirt.

"Is the rain over?" Queen asked the boys. Steve nodded a yes,"Its been over for a while now, we just needed the outfits."

"I was wondering if I could change the tires first, so that the van could hold more stuff and travel better," Riley asked.

"Sure," Kimmie said,"There's a bunch of tires at the back of the building. Just change the tires quietly and quickly, we still need to find shelter."

The group moved out of the house and down to the van, while Riley and Kimmie went to the back of the building to grab a change of tires. The rest were packing all the extra supplies, including a few hygiene related items, and a few pieces of clothing, like scarves and jackets.

3:44 P.M.

The group was driving, but they weren't sure where. Kimmie suggested finding the lab, but they weren't sure where to start looking. They decided to try going down some streets, and they ended up going to a back road area near the west of town. They stopped by a building up on rocks and hills, surrounded by forest and jungle, carefully secluded yet noticeable. Surely someone must have stayed there sometime during the apocalypse, but necessarily it wasn't a prime place for permanent stay.

Riley parked the van where it couldn't be seen, and the group surreptitiously made their way up to the building. Everything in the atmosphere seemed wrong. For some reason, the air felt freshly walked through, as if it wasn't abandoned long. There were no cars inside, but the area seemed far from empty.

Haru slowly placed his hand on the doorknob, until a voice shouted from the roof of the second floor.

"FREEZE!" a young man said, looking about their age. He was pointing a gun at them, with a light attached to its top. He was standing on a balcony, which lead to a bedroom upstairs. From behind him, a girl with a knife and a boy with a flashlight and blade appeared in sight of the group, both flashlights flashing down at them.
