I suppressed my heart as much as I could but the emotions from yesterday were still fresh. But thanks to my acting skills, I could conceal them very well. I stood outside her house, waiting for her as the wind swayed my fluffy brown hair. Kayra asked me to not cut them because she liked my hair long and fluffy. She once said they reminded her of a nest.

A smile bloomed on my lips at the thought of her teasing me and laughing her head off. The clothes she'd picked looked perfect on me as if she'd measured me herself and had them tailored. And it was even her favorite color, white. I knew it, white suited me.

I glanced at the time, maybe coming too early was not good. I sighed, it still had fifteen minutes to ten when I was standing there from the past fifteen minutes. I didn't text her because I knew she knew I was here. I saw the curtains flutter a little ten minutes ago when the windows were closed. So, unless there was a ghost in her room, the curtains couldn't have moved by themselves. I could bet ten thousand dollars, it was Kayra.

The front door opened and the wind suddenly stopped. My breathing halted and all I could do was stay plastered to my position. I just watched with mouth agape and eyes wide as Kayra made her way towards me. “Nolan!”

She was walking with her head down. I was the one she's walking to, with that ridiculously beautiful outfit on. She was smiling at me, looking so beautiful even the moon would shy away. Strangely enough, it made my whole mood light up.

I couldn't take my eyes off her until she stopped in front of me and passed me the warmest of smiles I've ever seen. There was something in her smile, it was full of warmth yet didn't seem genuine.

I scanned her from head to toe and in the end my eyes stopped at one place, her face and refused to move. I was in a daze for some time, unable to process anything.

She twirled, laughed and teased me in my mind while wearing that beautiful saree. She looked like a heavenly goddess. A pretty shade of sky blue organza which was beautifully draped on her body and flowed on her one hand was mesmerizing. She let her long raven hair, which fell back to her waist open and free, and they danced with the breeze as if they were kissing freedom. Light makeup and ethnic jewelry which completed her look made her even more breathtaking.

Her eyes sparkled and golden skin shined from under the thin fabric of her saree and I was feeling overwhelmed and special. It felt nice that she dressed up for me, no, it felt better to know that she was mine. She was wearing my favorite color and anyone could tell, it suited her.

My thoughts weren't mine, in fact after seeing her, there weren't any thoughts in my mind. It was empty with nothing but Kayra. Her face, her eyes, her lips, her visible waist.

She waved her hand in front of me. “What are you thinking?” I shook my head a little and returned her smile. I scooped my arm from around her waist and pulled her closer to me. “I might have to be on guard today.” She seemed confused by my words. “Or else all men will flock around you.”

She chuckled and threw her arms around my neck. I could feel her breathing and her chest heaving up and down. She locked eyes with me and acted playfully. “Why?”

“Because you look so gorgeous today. The main character of the day and… my life.” I pulled her closer as her body pressed against mine. “You took my breath away, so I think I might die.” I smiled as she laughed. She gazed into my eyes once again. Those beautiful pools of chocolate. “Then I should share mine with you.”

She put her lips on mine. I closed my eyes and let my lips do the work. I just let myself melt and feel every bit of her and the moment. She pulled my head down while her hands grabbed my hair. I was sure my hair was getting messy but who cares, I only wanted to taste her. The rose scent from her body and the cherry flavor of her lips were so intoxicating, I forgot we had a date. Until she pulled away and I just took in her smell before letting her go. I looked at her and we both just giggled at each other.

My hair was a mess and her lipstick was ruined. “I'll fix it up real quick,” she said and started searching inside her bag. “Me too.” I took a step towards her and at the same time she came towards me. Her hands stopped in track towards my hair and my hands froze on her face. She looked at me with confusion and the little tilt of her head was absolutely adorable.

I suppressed my smile as soon as realization hit me and she contained her smile too but we both broke out laughing when we met each other's eyes. “I thought you'd fix your own hair.”

“I also thought you were searching for your lipstick.” I smiled. She was going to fix my hair and this fact alone made butterflies erode in my stomach. “I was going to fix your hair. It's a mess.” She chuckled. I realized that we couldn't see ourselves so we didn't know how we looked and the fact that we wanted to help each other without caring about our own appearance was really sweet.

“Your lipstick is everywhere on your mouth except your lips.” I used my thumb to wipe the lipstick from her face. She extended her hands to my head and began brushing my hair. We did nothing special but the moment felt more intimate than any other. We cared for each other and it showed through our actions.

“All done,” we said in unison and just giggled once again. This day started with full of laughs and giggles and I wanted the rest to go like this too. “Let's go,” she said and took steps towards the passenger seat. I hurried to overtake her and opened the gate for her and she looked at me as if she was impressed.

I got in the car as well and looked at her. I didn't know where we were going, in short I was clueless. I waited for her to say something but she didn't so I continued staring at her. “Drive.”

“I don't know where we're going,” I told her and she just smiled, a mischievous one. “Just drive, I'll tell you the directions.”

“Is this a surprise?” I asked, perplexed. It was so out of character that I hesitated to ask her. But considering everything, this seemed like a surprise. “Yes.” She nodded.

“You're giving me a surprise? That's new but I'm excited.” I started the engine and drove the way she told me. I was genuinely excited as to how she'll surprise me. I wasn't a big fan of being surprised, I'd rather give them but when it came to Kayra, my preferences changed. I feel like I could even defy the natural laws for her.

“You should be because it's going to be really special.” She chuckled but the hint of gloom under her happy facade didn't go unnoticed by me. She tried her best to put on a mask but too bad, I could see through people. And with Kayra, I almost saw everything. “Now, I can't wait.” I reciprocated the smile as mentioning anything right now wouldn't be good. I should wait until she says something herself.
