I'll Set You Free

Chapter One: Prologue

It was Felix's 12th birthday, he was with his friends, all hanging out at the mall...
His friends usually just hangout together in these special occasions during the summer, other than that they don't see each other much during the summer break.

The dark haired boy was sitting next to his bigger friend Chan, both grew up pretty close to each other, he was his brother, his best friend. Chan felt the same way towards him, his little brother Felix.

Together arrived to the mall and met with all of his other friends, in reality they were more Chan's friends, but Felix didn't mind, he was close to Jisung and Jeonging as well.

But Chan had other friends like Changbin and Seungmin, they were cool, but just a little too cool to Felix, he felt intimidated by them, and often didn't have much to talk to with them. But that day other two boys came to the "party" and met with them. Apparently they were Changbin's former friends from his previous school, Hyunjin and Minho...

Felix didn't feel much comfortable with the whole hangout, it was alright next to Chan, but with all the others he just felt left out even if that was his birthday.

- "Are you okay? you seem off" - Chan asked him, even thought he is older for a few months, he looked so much bigger, must be because he is taller now, Felix thought.
- "I know meeting new people it's hard for you, but they seem nice, right?" - Chan could read Felix mind so easily that it annoyed the small boy sometimes, he could never hide something from him

- "Im okay, don't worry" - Felix said, with a fake smile, in honesty he hated that his "party" was being crashed by some random kids, especially cause no one besides Chan, Jeongin and Jisung wished him a happy birthday... He didn't care anyway, he didn't know them.

- "So any plans? like this is all we are going to do? just stay in this table talking?" Minho asked very annoyed.

- "Yeah... like i thought you said we would go to a birthday party or something, this is boring" - Hyunjin agreed, looking at Changbin.

- "I know you guys just got here and all, but this is Felix's birthday and this is what he likes to do" - Chan said quickly, he seemed upset, he kept looking at Minho.

- "Who the hell is Felix anyway?" - Hyunjin asked.
Felix lookup from his food, Hyunjin look a bit older but not much than himself. He was handsome, dark hair and eyes, sharped face, his features reminded Felix of some model.

- "I am" - The tiny boy said, he whispered it.
Hyuinjin's face softened up the moment he saw him speak, he didn't really paid much attention to him, he was quiet and hiding mostly behind Chan, but when they looked eyes he felt incredibly bad, he didn't mean to be mean to him, he just couldn't really control it.
Minho on the other hand laughed.

-"Im sorry, we didn't really see you there"- Minho got up - "Can we leave? go to arcade? do something more fun than this!" - He said looking at Hyunjin.

- "Yeah" - The pretty boy said, he didn't sound excited, he just seemed to followed the older boy's commands. Felix kept looking down, he felt embarrassed by the whole situation.

- " You guys are right" - Seungmin said, grabbing Changbin's arm pulling him up. - " Come on, let's do something fun" - Seungming said as he walked with the other three boys.

Changbin stopped for a moment looking back
- "Chan come on!" - He said.

Jisung and Jeongin also got up from their seats and walked with the rest of the boys, leaving Chan and Felix by themselves.

- "Told you i wanted to stay at home watching horror movies or playing video games" - Felix said, he was hiding his face, Chan knew he was trying hard not to cry.

- "Hey, don't mind them, they are just assholes... come on! let's go home and watch some movies and play video games" - Chan said lifting the boy's face, wiping his tears and hugging him.

After that incident things changed at school, that year, the group wasn't the same anymore, changing more and more the next few years, reaching to their last high school year.

Bangchan kept taking care of Felix, they were inseparable, to the point that even Chan's girlfriend, Jamie, was also very protective over Felix. Chan kept being friends with Changbin, Seungmin, Jeongin and Jisung, but he hated Minho and Hyunjin

Those two were the "bad boys" at the school, always messing with people and girls, and boys too sometimes, at least those were the rumors.

To Felix, his only real friend was Chan, sometimes he would hang out with Jisung and Jeongin, but not often, and very rarely with the rest, as sometimes the eight boys would found themselves hanging out together, but to Felix those were the worse moments, he didn't feel like he fit in into that group, to him, he was only Chan's tiny brother and even then, he felt like a responsibility to him.

But the last year of high school was going to be different for everyone, especially for Felix. The summer before going back to school he left to visit his family in Australia and things just changed.
