Chapter Twenty Four: You promised, Channie

It was Saturday, just three days passed since Felix left, and Hyunjin couldn't stop missing him, he kept himself distracted studying for finals with Minho, but couldn't really pay attention.

He didn't hear anything from Felix, no texts or calls, all he knew was because of Chan, he kept texting everyone, Jamie also kept them all informed. He felt like Felix was ignoring him, but no, he only felt insecure about it, Felix was busy dealing with really important things to be thinking about Hyunjin, he couldn't blame him.

So far they knew, thanks to Chan, that Rachel's treatment gave her a bad reaction, they all thought she wouldn't make it, that's why it was so important that Felix would be there, just in case, but thankfully she did, she was still in very delicate state, but she looked stable. The doctors seemed to have figured out what was the problem and started working on the solution and apparently it was working.

He was relieved knowing that, it meant Felix must be feeling better, right?

When Hyunjin spoke last with Jamie, she said Chan was coming back on Sunday, and most likely Felix too, if nothing changed with Rachel's state. Hopefully nothing would and Hyunjin could see Felix, he was so worried and missed him so much, he texted Felix, and he would answer hours later but very dryly, he blamed the time difference, but he didn't want to think too much into that, Felix would be back soon, right?

Hyunjin couldn't sleep, hoping Felix would answer or text him, but nothing, he was restless, they were fine, right? why wouldn't they be? He just wanted to be there for him, but Felix wouldn't let him.

He got up around 10 am, he couldn't stay in bed any longer, he got ready and went to Minho's place, Jisung was there too.

-"Early, don't you think?- Minho said closing the door

-"You couldn't sleep either?"- Jisung asked Hyunjin, he nodded.

-"His absence, his silence, it's driving me crazy"- Hyunjin said, Jisung nodded, the fact that not one of them heard from Felix made Hyunjin feel both better and worse, better because he wasn't only ignoring him, but bad because he was ignoring all of his friends, that was a bad sign. They waited for the rest of his friends.

Jamie informed the boys that Chan was coming Sunday afternoon around 6:00 pm, so they all got ready and waited for him at the airport, they all were hoping Felix was with him, and as soon as Chan walked out with his bag, alone, everyone looked at Hyunjin.

Jamie ran and hugged him, he hugged her back, they kissed, he seemed both sad and happy.
-"Don't worry too much"- Chan said, they looked confused -"He will get here in a few hours"- He said, Hyunjin gave a step forward -"We didn't know if he was coming or not, and by the time he decided, my plane was full, he will be arriving in the next one, just a few hours"- Chan said softly patting Hyunjin's shoulder. The tall boy breathed, he didn't notice he was holding his breath all this time.

-"How is he?"- It was all that Hyunjin cared about.

-"She is doing better, they have hope again, he feels better about it, we all do, he'll be back for finals and go back again during Winter break"- Hyunjin nodded, he knew that, he just wanted to hug Felix so badly.

-"I need to get home, we'll come back later for him"- Chan said and everyone agreed, and as they walked out Hyunjin turned around, he saw a blonde boy standing far away, his back and hair looked exactly like Felix's but it couldn't be him right? Just as Hyunjin was about to ask, Chan grabbed his hand and dragged him to the parking lot. Just as everyone was getting in their cars. Was that Felix?

Felix saw his friends as he walked out, he looked at Chan, both stopped walking, Chan reassured him everything would be alright, but Felix shook his head
-"You promised, Channie"- He said, Chan rolled his eyes, he was upset with Felix, this plan of his was nonsense, to him it was just a bad idea.

-"What am i supposed to say, Lix?"- He asked, looking at his friend group, they couldn't see them just yet.

-"Tell them i took another plane, that i will be back later today"- Chan rolled his eyes again, he was very mad by now, he hated lying, and Felix knew it.

-"I don't like doing this, Felix"- He said walking past the blonde one, he turned around just before his friends saw him -"You better find a way to explain this to them later, if you don't i will"- He said and didn't wait for answer, he walked towards his friends, from Felix perspective, he could see Hyunjin's face darkened as Chan talked, it made Felix want to run towards him and hug him, kiss him, but he couldn't, it broke Felix seeing Hyunjin so sad.

It was for the better, he told himself and kept telling himself because this was going to be so difficult, as they walked outside Felix felt safe to walk towards the exit, but just as he did, he saw Hyunjin stopping, he turned around and as his did, Felix did too, hoping Hyunjin didn't see him, he waited a few minutes before turning back, he saw Chan dragging Hyunjin away, he relaxed.
