I set my phone down, sighing. "Who knows what we would end up doing.. but that was future us problem. It would take arounddddd.. ten minutes for him to get here, so that gives me time to look for a recipe. What to pick, what to pick.." I thought to myself, while picking my phone back up, scanning Google for anything easy, or anything that looks good.

I started to look for recipes with the free time you had. After a while of searching, I came across one that sounded delicious and looked easy enough to make. It was a lemon chicken pasta bake, and all the reviews about it had nothing negative to say. "Worth a shot.." I mumbled under my breath. "Yeah, it is!" A voice from behind me says, causing me to scream, and smoke my head off the countertop corner.

"AIDEN," I shouted. "WHAT THE FUCK, MAN!" My breathing was heavy, this kid gonna give me a heart attack. How did i forget that he has the key to my house! This happens to me.. every.. single.. time! And know i have a bleeding head.. not like it hurts but STILL! "Eh? Sorry." He didn't sound sorry as he continued to wear his signature smile. It was creepy at times, but it looked more, or less, genuine today. "Whatever.." I mutter under my breath. "Ready to try this?" I wave my phone in his face, showing him the recipe. His eyes darted back and forth, reading it quickly. "Ooo!" He mused. "I used to eat this all the time, it's actually really good-" "GOOD! Then let's get started!" I cut him off, before he could say anything else.

"Geez, how much coffee did you have today?" I sighed, as he laughed at my expense. "None," I started. "I don't drink that stuff!" He looked me dead in the eyes. "Taylor.. we go to Starbucks together almost every morning.." I suck at lying. "Oh shi-"

"Erm, anyways!! Let's get started." I began, after FINALLY getting him to drop the coffee thing. "Can you get me some chicken, pertty pleaseee?" He groaned. "Why do is have to touch that craa...p." I shot him a death glare. "Yes ma'am." With that, he got some chicken out of the freezer. "Do we have to let this shit thaw out, or sum?" I looked up at Aiden who just shook his head. Course he doesn't know, it's Aiden. "Okayyyy... what now?" He asked. "Ehh, let's use it anyways. What is the worst that could happen?" He shook his head again. "Worth a shot." He said, grinning.

"Let's hope this works, and doesn't, like, kill us!" He laughed, poking around the cabinets for some lemons. "Huh." He muttered. "What is it?" I asked, trying my best to get the chicken meat to do as the recipe said. "You ain't got any lemons.. but you have some apples, limes, and oranges." He informed me, i sighed. "Just get the, uhh, limes. They are similar enough, right?" I told him, so he reached up for the limes. "Right." He said back, grinning, once again.

"Close enough," I say, as he drops the limes onto the counter next to everything else. I check the recipe again, and start to cut up the chicken while he cuts the limes. Eventually, we finish prepping the ingredients and put them into the oven. As the smell fills the kitchen, Aiden piped up. "Dang, this actually smells good. We might not screw it up." I reach up, giving him a high five. "YEAHH!"

Beep beep

"Huh.. what's that?" I asked, as Aiden looked around the kitchen. "I dunno," He shrugged. "But the smell just got worse.." I sniffed the air. "Yeah. It almost smells bur..." I looked at him, as he looked at me. "WE BURNT THE CHICKEN!" We both shouted, as I attempted to bet the chicken out of the oven. "It was only in there for one minute.. how.. why.." Aiden sputtered, as if pulled the burnt chicken out.

"Wanna try it anyways?" I asked, making him grin. "Duh!"

———

"And that's the story of how me and Aiden both got food poisoning!" I told the others, that stared at us in shock. "Girl.." Ashlyn started. "WHAT THE FUCK!?" Tyler finished for her. "You should probably also get that head wound checked out.." Ben typed, making me look up at it to the best of my ability. "Eh." I said, smiling. "It makes a cool scare."

"NO THE FUCK IT DOESN'T-"
