"Guys," Aiden started, aggressively shaking Ashlyn by the shoulders. "It'll be funnnn! I promise!" The blonde boy exaggerated his words, making his best attempt to convince them to out and down to the lake with him. This lake was supposedly 'haunted' and Aiden really wanted to go explore nearby. None of them were very pleased about the idea, considering their current situation and everything, but Aiden was pretty good at convincing people.

"Will you stop shakING ME!" Ashlyn yelled, gripping Aiden's hands so he couldn't shake her anymore. "Sorry.." He murmured. "This is stupid. I'm not going." Tyler stated, sighing. "Last time we went somewhere 'haunted' we ended up getting stuck in the closest thing to hell." Taylor snickered at his statement. "That's what she said!" Tyler just groaned, rubbing his eyes.

"Well, I'm going!" Taylor spoke with nothing but pure excitement. "No way am i missing this!!" Tyler crossed his arms. "Guess I HAVE to go now." He sighed, shaking his head. "I think it's sketchy, but it could be fun. I think it's just rumors anyways." Ben typed out on his phone. Aiden nodded along. "SEE!" He exclaimed. "If Ben AND Tyler agreed it must be fine."

Logan, who had been quiet the whole time, finally spoke up. "I just Googled everything about the lake." He started. "It's safe, only a few bodies were thrown in." Everyone went dead silent. "A few.. so, like, people actually.. died?" Taylor asked. Logan looked at her confused. "Yeah, it's only about five. All from the same family. It was all suicide, during the great depression period." He went on. "Pretty cool history.. why is everyone looking at me like that?"

"Logan, babe, that is really dark for you to be interested in." Tyler explained. Logan looked a bit baffled. "...we literally learnt about Lake Michigan in class a week ago." Logan said, looking slightly amused. "This is nothing." Aiden just kept smiling, he personally didn't give two shits. "Soooooo.. it's haunted? Cool beans!" He exclaimed, taking Ash and Ben by the hands, running towards the lake area. Taylor who was talking with Ben, immediately went after them. Tyler, who was still talking to Logan, noticed them take off. He just sighed and walked after them, Logan close behind.

The teens made their way to the edge of the lake, the sun set low in the sky, a few stars visible above in the summer evening. It was eerily quiet around the lake, barely a sound except for the water lightly lapping at their feet. "So... this is it? Where's the spooky stuff, huh? All I see is a boring lake!" Aiden exclaimed. Taylor kicked some water, watching it splash around. "I heard you can see spirits here sometimes! Maybe we'll see a ghost!" Aiden beamed at this new found information, listening closely. "Ash.. do you hear anything?" He asked after a moment of silence.

"No. It's really quiet here actually." She told him, looking at the calm and serene lake view. "I can only hear you all, and the occasional splash of the water." Aiden groaned, kicking some rocks. Tyler sighed. "What did you expect?" Tyler asked, Aiden looked towards him. "I dunno something more interesting, i guess." He grumbled again, still smiling.

"Well, at least we didn't get haunted! :)" ben typed. "Good point. Plus, it is a pretty sight." Taylor piped up, looking at the lake's small waves. "Maybe another place, another time." Logan said, trying to cheer Aiden up. "..hopefully." He said solemnly. "But you're right, at least the view is nice."

"We should get home now." Logan spoke, checking the time on his phone. "So.. sleepover at my place?" Aiden asked them. "Sure!" Taylor beamed, she loved sleepovers. Tyler stayed quiet, since he had to go if Taylor was going. Ben just nodded, since it was his house anyways. "Ah, i guess i can." Logan mumbled, texting his grandparents. "Only if i get to shower before heading over." Ashlyn told him. "Fine, fine." He snickered. "Ms. Clean."

"AIDEN, I SWEAR TO GOD-"
