episode seven ; we find out the truth, sort of

THE BOYS AND BEATRICE walk through the dunes, on their way toward hades's palace. it was pure silence as the three walked together.
"weird." grover said, looking back occasionally as he walked. "haven't heard the dog in a while."
"he chased us all that way and then just... stopped?" percy said then looked at his friends in confusion. "i wonder why."
"that's what i'm saying. it's weird."
"maybe the dog isn't allowed back here?" beatrice mentioned to the boys.
the boys shrugged their shoulders before grover continued to walk forward. beatrice all of a sudden noticed luke's shoes had revealed its wings without his mom's name being called.
"grover?" percy blurted out, his eyes looking at the red converse. the wings flapped and grover started flying. "grover, where are you going?"
beatrice and percy began to follow after him. "i don't — i don't know. i — i can't stop!" the two struggle their way up a dune as grover tried to stop himself from going any farther. "percy! beatrice! it's the shoes!"
"no, really?!" beatrice shouted sarcastically, continuing to chase after him.
"grover!"
they made their way over the dune and grover fell over, but he still continued to get dragged. beatrice and percy stopped at the sight of a huge hole. the young adult's eyes went wide.
"oh... gods." beatrice mumbled at the sight of tartarus.
"guys!" grover shouted loudly, snapping the two out of their trance. "percy! beatrice!"
"grover!" percy shouted and ran down, sliding down when he reached the satyr. beatrice stayed at the top of the hill, still staring at the hole.
percy took out his sword and plunged it deep into the sand, stopping them from going down any further. beatrice's eyes watch as luke's shoes come off of grover's hooves and drop into tartarus. the young adult slowly makes her way down to the two boys.
just as beatrice made it down, percy moved back and a loud clank in his backpack was heard. the three look at each other.
"what was that?" grover asked percy as he stared at him.
