Deceptions of the Heart II: Love is going to be the death of me

Problem

"I never asked for this!" yelled Roxanne as she tossed a vase which broke against the surface of the floor.

Currently Thorn and Roxanne were locked in Roxanne's bedroom.

"Come on Roxy he can't be that bad". Thorn tried to reassure her.

"Its not that he's bad! I just can't bring myself to love him! I don't want a marriage by force!" The young woman cried with tears in her eyes.

Thorn sighed.

"Come here you..." she said softly and opened her arms for Roxanne.

The girl quickly found shelter in her friend's arms. It was oddly welcoming.

"I might find a way to help you escape during the day of the wedding". Thorn suggested finally.

"Really?" asked Roxanne as she looked up at her with pleading eyes.

"I'll think of something. I'm 'Thorn' besides". Thorn chuckled.

Roxanne chuckled too.

"Oh what I'd do without you Candace? You know, maybe you should start using your real name". Suggested Roxanne.

"You think so?"

Roxanne gave a nod and remained in her friend's embrace (if she could consider her a friend still).

Back at the Rider mansion, Leonard Rider was sat at his office (which used to be Max's while he was gone). Suddenly his son burst in.

"Father!" he called.

Leonard raised his head from whatever he was currently doing.

"What is it son?" he asked curiously.

"We've got a huge problem!" announced Max.

His father only gave him a signal to continue.

"We have a new rival organization that is related to the Lawrence family. Will this affect us?"

Leonard only looked at his son with a calm expression.

"As far as I am aware no". He replied.

"So you're aware of them?" asked Max in surprise.

"Yes I am. You don't need to worry about them. They won't affect your wedding at least". Leonard reassured his son.

Max gave a nod and stepped out of the office closing the door behind him.

Mr Rider remained gazing at the door. His expression turned to one of malice as soon as it was shut.

"Little do you know Maximus..." he mumbled to himself. "That lovey-dovey bimbo of yours will soon be out of the way..."
