Chapter 17
The next few months were pretty uneventful, except for occasionally Seamus would stumble into the common room late at night or we would find him in the Chamber, talking to himself or writing in a notebook that no one had ever seen the contents of. Alexa was worried about him a lot, but she loved him and he still loved her, so they stayed together even through this weird time.
I was really worried about my brother, but that worry was replaced near the end of June, I was sitting in the Common Room with Harry and Seamus. Harry got up and excused himself, then he went out of the common room. Seamus sat on a couch writing in his notebook, which was getting fuller and fuller every day, and every time he opened it. I sighed and said “Seamus, please let me see that notebook” he looked up. “Lena, if you’re worried about me, please don’t be,” he turned the book towards me and I saw what looked like the names of spells. “All I’m doing is creating new spells and writing poems” I frowned “Why are you writing in that chamber all the time” Seamus grinned “It’s a quiet place that’s easy to write in” I sighed a bit “Well why are you always talking to yourself?” he laughed “I’m memorizing my poems and saying them in Parstletounge sis,” I let out a sigh of relief.
“Did you think I was going crazy or something?” I blushed a bit and nodded “Everyone did, everyone except Alexa at least” Seamus frowned and shut the notebook “Well you let them know I’m not crazy, I’ll see you later” he said and went upstairs. I sighed, it seems I just couldn’t win that day.
Right when I was about to go upstairs and go to bed Harry came into the common room “Alena, Dumbledore needs us, now.” I nodded and grabbed my jacket and put it on then we ran out the door. When we ran down the stairs I asked Harry “So what are we doing exactly?” he shrugged “Dumbledore didn’t tell me, he said he’d tell us when we got back” I nodded. “Hope it doesn’t take too long, I’m tired” I said.
I didn’t know how long this was going to take, and now that I think back on it, I should have went back to bed, because what Harry and I would see tonight would top any nightmare I could have.
We stopped in front of Dumbledore’s office and Harry said the passcode, the Gargoyle opened and we walked up the stairs, Dumbledore was standing in his office with his arms behind his back. “Good evening Alena, I see Harry was able to find you” I nodded “What are we doing exactly sir?” I asked. He nodded “You, Me, and Harry are going to destroy a Horcrux” I was confused. “What’s a Horcrux?” I asked. “A Horcrux is something someone uses to store the pieces of their soul once it is split, they cannot die until all are destroyed” I frowned. “Who’s Horcruxes are we going after”
Dumbledore frowned “Lord Voldemort’s” I was terrified when I learned this, I was afraid Voldemort would be waiting for us or would have set a trap for us, again, I should have left, but I felt that I needed to help Dumbledore, and Harry.
Dumbledore held out his arm, “Take my arm both of you, and I’ll take us to the place” I nodded and held onto his arm, Harry grabbed it too and we disapperated to a rock along a seashore, a storm was raging and large waves were crashing against the rocks. “Where are we!?” I yelled over the storm.
“We are near the cave!” Dumbledore yelled and pointed to a cave set in a cliff side. “Come” he yelled and trudged toward the cave, Harry and I followed him.
When we made it to the cave all we found was a stone wall “Now what do we do?” I asked and Dumbledore smiled a bit. “Patience dear” he said and pulled out a knife. “Sir?” Harry asked and Dumbledore cut his hand “This cave has a defense, and we must use blood to gain entrance” he said and pressed his hand against the stone, it crumbled instantly and we walked into a larger chamber.
