I am not a very competent writer, nor is this story a very interesting one. I would not even begin to say that this is a work that is worthy of the traffic which it has received. That's not what I am here to talk about though. I want to talk about why I wrote this story.
When I was just a little kid, I loved the Harry Potter movies, and I loved the books. Can you guess who my favorite character was in the universe? If you guessed Serverus Snape, then you'd be exactly correct.

As a character he was perfect, he had a good story. He wasn't a chosen one, he wasn't the bumbling idiot friend, he wasn't the know it all. In the books, I drew my own illustration of the character within my mind, and this character was brought to life on screen by the late actor Alan Rickman. I cannot begin to say how much I admired that man, particularly his performances in the later movies. I don't believe that anyone else could have portrayed Snape as effectively as he did, and I would like to dedicate the entirety of this work to him. While it isn't the best work that I could have produced, I did it all out of an admiration both for the character and the actor behind the character.

May you find only peace and happiness in the world beyond our own.

R.I.P Alan Rickman.
