                      7th Year Seamus

                  Seamus P.o.V

The day after we left Hogwarts, Alexa and I woke up in her parent’s house, they had been happy to finally meet me, and they gladly let us stay in Alexa’s room, they were muggles, so they were kind of wondering what a wizard acted like.

When we all sat down for dinner that first night Alexa’s parents asked me if I had a job. When  I told them I did the first thing they asked was not, can you support Alexa with it, are you going to keep the job, or what is your job, they asked “Does it have to do with magic” I nodded “I’m kind of like the policeman of magic” I said. They were amazed “What do they call you?” they ask and I replied “Aurors, there are a lot of us, we all work for the ministry of magic, but right now I’m kind of on leave, the Ministry has been taken over by a dark wizard, so I’m doing some…freelancing, working for the good guys, still pays well”

Alexa’s parents nodded “Well do you have any plans for what you’re going to do once Alexa graduates?” I nodded “I’ve been looking at houses and apartments” her mom nodded “And your relationship?” I looked over at Alexa “You haven’t told them yet?” she shook her head “I didn’t think to tell them” she said and I nodded then turned back to her parents “Well, me and Alexa are engaged already” her mom gasped “Engaged, now?”

I nodded “We haven’t set a wedding date, but we are engaged” I swear I thought her mom was going to faint right then and there. “My baby is getting married!” she exclaimed and Alexa’s dad nodded. “A happy day it is” he said. Alexa blushed and I held her hand under the table. “If I may ask, can I help you plan your wedding?” Alexa’s mom asked and I nodded.

She smiled wide “Thank you Seamus” she said and I nodded. “Do you care what date for it to be?” she asked and I shook my head “Not really, as long as it’s after graduation” I said.

She nodded “Ok, how about in the middle of June?” I nodded “That would be good right Lex?” Alexa nodded.  Alexa’s dad and mom started talking and me and Alexa went upstairs to her room and laid down.

We talked about what the others might be doing right now, she hoped everyone was alright, and I of course told her that everyone would be ok. She sighed and agreed and then slowly fell asleep.

A few weeks later Alexa and I went to London to spend the day having fun, we’d been wedding planning for awhile and we wanted to relax for a bit. First off we went to the orphanage I used to live at, Alexa always told me she wondered what it looks like so I figured she’d want to see it. When we got there I looked the old place over, it was a three story wooden grey building, run down, just like I remembered it.

“So this is where you grew up?” Alexa asked and I nodded. “This is where I spent the better part of my life, and it’s still the same” she looked it over again “Where are all the kids?” she asked and I shrugged. “Probably adopted or something” She nodded “It’s remarkable how you weren’t adopted all those years, you’re so handsome, and you can do great things without magic, but I’m happy you weren’t, because if you were I never would have met you” I nodded “And my life would never have been the same” we both said together. We stopped and just looked into each other’s eyes for a minute, then I leaned in and kissed her, and I held her, for both of us to think that life wouldn’t have been at all the same without each other, that shows how much we loved each other.

I knew then I would never leave Alexa again, and I would never hurt her, I would try to be the best husband and man that I can be. When we broke the kiss I took Alexa’s hand in mine, I rubbed my thumb against the ring on her finger, I felt the happiest I had ever felt. I knew things wouldn’t always be this way, it wasn’t possible, but I was going to enjoy it while it lasted.

A couple of months later me and Alexa were sitting at her grandma’s table for Christmas Eve Dinner.

Alexa had introduced me to her family who somehow already knew that I’m a wizard, cough, Alexa’s parents, cough.

I swear they would tell everyone in London that I’m a wizard if Alexa hadn’t told them not to, which makes me wonder if I should obliviate them right here. But Alexa told me that it was ok that the family knew, after all they would be my family in a few months anyway.

I had agreed with a sigh, and then the conversation began, most aimed at me and Alexa, about our ideas for life, what we wanted to do after we got married, where we had looked at houses and apartments, etc. etc.

After awhile I guess everyone got tired of asking us things about that and then they turned to , can you guess what it was? That’s right they started talking about magic, some people in the family thought it was freaky, others thought it was amazing, honestly I liked the ones who thought it was amazing, anyone that calls me a freak for being able to do these things should shut up, I was born with this, I didn’t choose it.

Alexa’s family was actually very happy that Alexa was marrying a wizard, they said if she had decided to marry someone like them, he wouldn’t be able to understand her as well, and that made me feel good, it made me happy that they approved of me.

After dinner I took Alexa home, I wrote a quick letter for Lena and put some galleons in an envelope for her then we both went to sleep.

The next morning when Alexa and I woke up we went downstairs into the living room where the Christmas tree was set up. Alexa sat down while her parents came downstairs then she picked up the presents and handed two to me. “Two?” I asked and Alexa’s parents smiled. “You’re going to be our son Seamus, we figured we should give you a present”

Never in my life had I felt more like a part of a family, Alexa’s family talked, they shared things, they talked about their problems.

Right there in front of Alexa and her parents a tear fell from my eye. “Is something wrong Seamus?” Alexa asked and I smiled and shook my head “No, nothing’s wrong, it’s just that, right now, I feel more like part of a family than I ever have” Alexa and her parents smile “We’re happy you feel like we’re family Seamus” they said. I swear, that was one of the best days of my life, to finally know what it’s like to have a normal family.
