Chapter 3 6th year

Chapter 3

   Seamus P.O.V

         I was woken from my sleep by one of the guys coming into the dorm. He was mumbling about something “What’s up with you?” I asked sitting up. “None of your business” he said and sighed.

         I got out of bed. “Something is wrong, I heard my sister downstairs earlier, what the hell is going on”. The guy frowned “It’s none of your business” I frowned back “If it involves my sister it is my business so why don’t you tell me if something is up with my sister”.

             The guy grabbed me by the front of my shirt and pulled me to him “stay out of my business you dumb punk kid” and he threw me back into the pose of my bed. I stepped forward and punched him, he punched me in the eye. It would probably black in the morning and then he pulled out his wand “Go to sleep before I curse you. You little punk”.

                I scowled “Bring it on, a death eater cursed me before, tried to drive me crazy, you can’t do shit with your dumb curses”. He pushed his wand under my chin and said “You are so lucky we aren’t in the forest or you would probably be dead” he said and then took the wand away and put it in his belt loop.

     “If you try anything I’ll show you how good of a wizard I am” I said as he walked to his bunk. He held up his middle finger behind him. I rolled my eyes and then got back in my bed. What is my sister getting herself in to?

              Alena P.O.V

           I woke up the next morning in a cold sweat, I was scared out of my mind. Voldemort wanted to kill George. And Blaise. I didn’t know what to do, I had to find a way to keep them both alive.

      I wiped the sweat away and got dressed slowly and went down into the common room. Seamus was leaning against the wall, his hair was brushed over his other eye. “Seamus is something wrong?” I asked. Seamus shook his head but I could see through his hair barely, there was a ring of purple black over his eye. I moved his hair and revealed his black eye “Seamus what happened?” I asked. “I got in a little fight” he said walking toward the door. “Seamus who did that?” he shrugged “It was to dark in the room for me to see” he said and opened the door “I’ll see you later Lena” he said and ducked out. I sighed and sat down in a chair. Blaise came downstairs a few minutes later, he had a bruise that was barely visible on his cheek “Blaise did you get in a fight?” I asked and he shook his head. “I just hit my face on a bed in the dark last night” he said and sat next to me. “Did you see who hit Seamus?” he looked at me with a confused look. “Who’s Seamus?” he asked. “He’s my little brother” I said.

          Blaise frowned and stood up “You should tell him to stay out of other people’s business,” he said and ducked out the door. I realized Blaise had hit Seamus, and Seamus must have hit back. I couldn’t believe this, my world was completely upside down, I had a little brother, my best friend wanted me to go out with him even though I had a boyfriend, and he had hit my little brother. This was all just crazy. I ducked out the door and headed toward the Great Hall. I ran into Georgi on the way there, she was flipping through a book. “Hey Georgi” I said and she looked up and smiled “Hey Lena, how was your night?” she asked. “Weird, very weird” I said and she frowned and closed her book. “In what way?” she asked.

             “Well first I get kissed by my best friend, then I have a dream where you know who told me I had to choose which one lives, and then my best friend punched my little brother”. Georgi sighed “That stinks” she said and Alexa ran up “Hey guys” she said as we walked into the great hall. I smiled “Hey Alexa, what’s up” I said. “Oh nothing just,” she stopped when she saw Seamus. “Who’s that?” she asked. “That’s my brother, Seamus” Alexa grinned “Is he single?” she asked and I laughed. “Probably, but I would stay away from him right now, he’s kind of in a fight with Blaise right now, it might get pretty ugly” Alexa nodded then her and Georgi went and sat at the Gryffindor table.

        I sat down next to Seamus, he was glaring at Blaise who was sitting down the table, I could see Seamus had his wand out and it was pointed at Blaise under the table, Blaise was probably doing the same. When the rest of the houses walked in they both quickly put their wands away.

           “Seamus don’t curse Blaise, you could get expelled” I said and he nodded. “Got it, don’t curse the jerk when a lot of people are around” I frowned and scooted farther away from him.

           After breakfast I headed to my first class, which Georgi was in too, Defense Against the Dark Arts, which my dad taught now, I hoped we would get to practice spells unlike last year. When we got in the room there were dummies on poles in front of us, we were definitely going to practice. My dad lined us up, he put me and Georgi right next to each other and said “This is practice if a dementer comes at you, since they seem to be attacking more now” my dad said and the dummies turned into floating creatures with long black cloaks. “Do this” my dad said and turned to a dementer with his wand raised and said “Expecto Patronum” he said and his Patronus, a doe, came out of his wand and hit the dementer, making it explode in light. “Now you try” he said and the dementer/dummies started to come at us.

            I raised my wand “Expecto Patronum” I said and a small wall of light came out of my wand, but it didn’t affect the dementer. “Expecto Patronum” I said again and a bigger wall came out, the dementer put its hand over its face and howled but when the wall faded it kept coming. “Expecto Patronum” I said louder and an Owl that looked exactly like Andre' flew out of my wand and hit the dementer, I bought my wand up and the Patronus/ Owl landed on my shoulder.

       I smiled “Good boy” I said and smiled. My dad walked over, “Very nice, a full Patronus,” Georgi was still producing walls of different sizes. My dad stood behind her and said “Focus on a very happy memory, I can see you have potential” Georgi nodded and said “Expecto Patronum” and a large dog that looked like a Labrador jumped out of her wand and ran at the dementer and seemed to tackle it as a guard dog would tackle an intruder.

           The dementer vanished and George smiled and bought the dog back to her “Good boy” she said and the dog smiled. When class was over we went down into the dungeons for potions, which was now taught by Professor Slughorn, I grabbed a book and sat down next to Blaise, he looked over and half smiled at me, I looked away, partly disgusted at him.

           After potions I went to lunch, I sat with Seamus again, and then we both realized something, Seamus had never been placed, he was just staying with Slytherin. “Should we ask Dumbledore about this?” I asked. Seamus nodded and we walked to the teacher’s table “Professor Dumbledore” I said and he looked up and smiled “Yes?” he asked, still smiling warmly. “My brother, he was never placed, and I was wondering if I could get replaced, I don’t feel like I fit in to Slytherin” Dumbledore nodded. “Yes for your brother, and I’ll think about your problem Miss Snape, come let us go to my office” he stood up and we walked out with him. He led us to a gargoyle and said “Sherbet Lemon”  the gargoyle turned to reveal a staircase. Dumbledore, Seamus and I walked up the staircase into Dumbledore’s office. Sitting on a cabinet was the Sorting hat, Dumbledore took it off the cabinet and put it on Seamus’s head. “Gryffindor” it said quickly and then Dumbledore said “Alena, I am going to let the hat try again, you may have been misplaced” he said and put it on my head “Clear your mind, if you were thinking about slytherin that may be the reason you were put there” I cleared my mind from everything and the hat said “Gryffindor” I jumped up and smiled. Professor Dumbledore smiled “Serve your house well Alena, you too Seamus” Seamus looked confused “How do you know my name?” he asked and Dumbledore chuckled “My dear boy, I know many things, especially the names of my students”. Seamus grinned “Thank you Professor” he said and went back down the stairs.

           I started to follow but then Dumbledore said “Alena, may I ask a favor of you?” I turned back and said “Of course, sir.” He smiled warmly and said “Alena, I may need your help sometime this year, when I do, I will have Harry come get you, and you will both come to my office ok?” I nodded and then went downstairs, in a new house, and extremely excited to make some new friends.
