"Everything's gonna be okay. You've got this. And hey, if you need anything while you're up there, don't hesitate to call. Love you, bye." Ellie says, sitting on the couch nervously with her phone to her ear and her legs together by her side as she leans on the armrest. She puts it down and sighs, resting her chin on her hand.

"I feel sick," Lucifer speaks up.

"Me too."

"Is your ringer on?" He asks.

"Of course. I hope this goes well, it needs to go well." She breathes out.

"I don't want her to be crushed if it doesn't work out." Lucifer crosses his arms.

"It's not just that. I know how they are, I know how Adam is. I wouldn't put it past him to do something stupid and now that they know that angels can be killed, anything goes." She tells him.

"Let's take our minds off of this. What do you want to do today?" He asks.

"I want to go shopping for you." She says quickly.

"For me?"

"I love shopping for guys, we should give you a new outfit. Let's go shopping and you tell me things I don't know about you. You have something to talk about and I have something to listen to, it works perfectly," She suggests. "And we can obviously listen in case the phone rings."

"Do I really need a new outfit?"

"Yeah, come on." She stands up as her outfit changes like nothing. She now has on this black tank top, this short floral skirt, and these chunky combat boots and sunglasses. It amuses him how the one thing she consistently uses magic for is to pick her outfits.

"Okay, okay, make me look good and maybe I'll buy the outfit." He smiles.

"Hell, if you look good, I'll buy it." She giggles.

"I don't like you implying I'm ugly." He jokes, following her out the door.

"I did no such thing, I don't think you're ugly. This is just not my style," She lightly pulls at the opening of his coat. "Talk to me, pretty boy, what do I not know?"

"I don't know. You know my beginning and my end, you never ask about my life while Charlie was growing up." He shrugs.

"Do you wanna tell me?"

"I'm not opposed, it's just...ugh, Lilith." He rolls his eyes.

"That's a reaction." She notices.

"I've never talked about everything that happened before because I didn't want it to spread around." He sighs.

"You don't have to if you don't want to, I'm sure there's other things." She places a hand on his arm as they walk down the stairs to the street.

"No, I trust you. So, things were fine between us until a year before Lilith got pregnant." He starts.

-

"The people are rioting in the Doomsday District." Lucifer hums from the throne beside Lilith.

"Aren't they always?" She chuckles.

"I suppose. But they're getting really violent. I think I should step in." His eyebrow furrows as he looks down at the newspaper.

"We're in Hell, were you expecting them to sing and dance?" She asks.

"N-no, it's just...shouldn't I do something if they're becoming too dangerous?" He looks at her but she stays looking straight ahead.

"I'll take care of it if you care so much. But really, we're slumming it with the worst of the worst, who cares if a few of them are dying? No one in the Doomsday District likes you anyway." She sighs.
