Ellie stands in front of the mirror, putting on her earrings as a final touch. The battle was over, the information had been used, and the stakes had shifted. Now, she's keeping her word to Vox, spending time with him as promised. She views it as a simple obligation, a matter of honor.

She steps out and immediately sees Lucifer talking to Charlie just before she closes the door. He turns around to see her with a smile until his eyes narrow as he takes in her outfit. She's wearing this little black dress with black tights and boots. Her hair is as big as usual with her beautiful brunette waves framing her face perfectly.

"Going somewhere?" He asks, his tone more guarded than usual.

"I'm hanging with Vox." She meets his gaze.

"Hanging? Is that what we're calling this?" He laughs.

"I made a promise, Ducky. I'm just keeping my word." She sighs.

"You don't owe him anything, Ellie. Not after everything that's happened." His jaw tightens.

"It's not about owing. It's about integrity. I said I would, and so I will. It doesn't mean anything more than that." She shrugs.

"Doesn't mean anything?" He repeats, disbelief coloring his voice. "Do you really believe that?"

"We've been through this. It's just a visit. It's not a big deal." Ellie's eyes flash with irritation.

"It's a big deal to me." He tenses up but before Ellie can respond, the elevator doors open and Angel walks over.

"Still headin' to your flat-screen?" Angel asks.

"Yeah, why?"

"How would you feel about takin' me for a fly? Val's blowing up my phone."

"Alright," She shrugs. "Lu, I'll be back soon. If you want to wait up, you're always welcome at my place. You have your key."

"Go, go, go," Angel whispers at the end of the hallway.

"Be careful." Lucifer tries.

"Okay. Angel, come on, I'm gonna be late." She laughs, following him.

A moment after they turn the corner, Husk comes around to see Lucifer standing where Ellie left him. Seeing Husk snaps him out of it as he tries to put his walls back up.

"Hiya, Husk! How's it going?" He asks.

"It's...good. I didn't know you'd be up here." His acting is horrible but Lucifer doesn't even notice.

"I guess I'm gonna be up here for a while, waiting for Ellie to come back. Like a dog at home." His eye twitches.

"Why don't you come to my place? I can fix you a drink. I have my very own bar for me to practice these fruity little drinks kids these days ask for." He laughs.

"I'd like that." Lucifer smiles.

"Angel, what is going on? Why is he asking for you after everything? Is it gonna be bad?" She asks, flying him through the city.

"I don't know, Ellie, I never know until I'm there. It'll probably be bad but it's whatever. I can handle a lot of things shoved up my ass." Angel shrugs as they finally reach the building.

Ellie lands gracefully in front of the building. She sets Angel down gently, her concern for him evident in her eyes.

"Remember, if things get too rough, call me," she said firmly.

"Yeah, I know. Thanks, Ellie." With a final nod, she watched as Angel disappeared into the building before turning to head towards Vox's apartment.

Ellie makes her way to Vox's apartment, the path familiar but the destination feeling more burdensome than ever. The building is fairly empty due to the time of night and she can't help but replay the conversation with Lucifer in her mind. His tension, his jealousy—it's more palpable than ever. But a promise is a promise.
