Ellie sits by the window of her tower, gazing out at the ethereal landscape of Heaven. The tranquility of the realm seems to mock the chaos happening in her head. She traces patterns on the glass absentmindedly, her mind racing with thoughts of Lucifer. The conversation they had three days ago replays in her mind like a broken record. His desperate voice, the sincerity in his eyes, it all feels like a dream. She can't shake the image of him, pleading for her trust. He has never looked so vulnerable, so utterly broken. But doubts still linger, gnawing at this false sense of calm she has. She needs clarity, not just for her own peace of mind but for everything she's built in Hell.
Ellie drops down to the floor, using her wings to slow the fall before standing up, and taking a deep breath. She has spent enough time hiding away in this tower, wrestling with her emotions. After all, it's almost noon. It's time to take action. She needs answers, and she isn't going to find them by isolating herself. If there is one thing she has learned over the past two years, it is that running away never solves anything.
As she paces the room, her thoughts turn to her father. He doesn't understand her ninety percent of the time but she should probably talk to him more about her situation. And probably beg to go home. But she can already hear him in her ears telling her that this is her home.
Her father won't listen if she requests a meeting so she'll have to go to him without asking. She puts on a basic white dress that's appropriate for the palace. Her hair is done with two little pink ribbons on either side of her head and matching Mary Jane's. That's when she notices her tower now has a door.
Ellie steps out and it's still strange how cool it is here. She's gotten so used to the heat especially since she refused to give up her sweaters just because it's hot. She'd rather tough it out than not wear them. She walks through the city first to get coffee before meeting her father. And it's also strange that she can peacefully walk by herself through the city. She never did that in Hell or with the humans without some kind of mishap. She's never had the chance to do it in Heaven since she was a kid.
The sun is shining and the sky is so blue, it's beautiful. The streets are beginning to get busy for Heavenly brunch but Ellie walks through it all with ease. She stops along the way to get an iced coffee before continuing. She had to tip a lot there too because her first cashier passed out at the sight of her.
The cobblestone in hell is trip-proof which is also a nice adjustment. Most traffic is in the skies in Heaven. That's not originally why she prefers walking but her preference is perfect for Heaven anyway. When she walks into the palace, the security angels let her through instantly.
The one thing Ellie doesn't do is stairs. There are at least thirty flights to get up to her Father and she quickly flies through all of them before standing at the top. She then brushes herself off to continue walking. She takes a sip of her iced coffee before knocking or more accurately pounding on the door. She then takes a step back and lightly taps her foot as she waits. The door opens within a few seconds and another angel opens the door.
"Good morning, Princess. Your father is in a meeting right now." The angel by the door clears his throat quietly.
"Can you tell him I'm here?"
"I will. As soon as this meeting is done. Although, I don't recall you having an appointment." He squints his eyes.
"I don't need an appointment, it's family business." She shrugs.
"Alrighty then, please go wait over there and I'll let you know if and when he'll see you." He nods before shutting the door.
She hums to herself quietly as she makes her way over to the small area off to the side. When Ellie notices the grand piano in the center of the room, she immediately takes a seat. Her fingers sit on the cold keys for a moment before she begins to play.
