Tama lifted her gaze and found a familiar face staring at her face. The boy looed confused and relieved at the same time, and a smile slowly took over his features. In spite of her pain, she turned around and opened her arms wide, and the boy ran right into her excitedly.
"It's been a while, little monkey.", she whispered. Sen and Suiren cooed at the sweet sight, causing the boy to look at them, curious.
"Where's your mother, little ones? Are you here all alone?", Sen asked. Moegi nodded in affirmation and quickly said, "We're not siblings."
"If you must know, this is my mother.", Konohamaru declared as he settled into Tama's hold. Shusui, worried, cast her a look, but she didn't seem to mind the child one bit. In fact, she looked quite happy to have him.
"That's right.", she said softly as she ruffled his hair. The sight was quite sweet, it made Shisui feel all tender inside. He could even imagine her holding their own child like that. At that, he simply looked away and drank his tea. Nothing like that would ever happen.
"Karin-chan, Akira-chan, I don't think you've met litte Konohamaru-kun. He's the grandson of the third Hokage.", Tama said as she motioned for the girls to come. They did so, kneeling down in front of her.
"Hello there.", Akira said beamishly. Karin waved at the boy. Konohamaru smiled as small smile and said a soft greeting before turning back to Tama.
"What happened? You disappeared all of a sudden. I thought you were on a mission. Why's your hair a different colour?", he said seriously. Tama nodded in understanding.
"I was, then I ran into some people who needed my help. Then, I had to stay with them and help.", she explained softly, casting her gaze to the two other children he had come with.
"Moegi-chan, Udon-kun. Hello.", she said as she moved Konohamaru slightly. Moegi blushed lightly, and Udon said a polite greeting.
"Now then, what are you doing with this scroll?", she then asked, pinching the boy's cheeck as she moved more towards Shisui. She then motioned for the two others to sit down, which they did without hesitation.
"I never realised how good she could be with children.", Suiren remarked as she sat down next to Shisui, who was lost in his own little world.
"She's the best.", Akira responded as she, too, took a seat between her and her mother. Yukiko immediately prepared a dish for her daughter.
Tama opened her mouth as Shisui finally brought another bit of food, and this seemed to offend Konohamaru greatly. The boy perked up, wide eyed and pink in the face, and said, "So what's this? Did you get married while you were away? Why didn't you tell me?"
Karin burst out laughing, and Akira quickly stopped herself. Shisui narrowed his eyes at Tama mischievously, who did the same, only threateningly.
"I wouldn't get married without you there to see. You're my litte Saru/monkey. Remember?", she then said, before taking another bite. Konohamaru seemed to relax, before perking up again, looking properly suspicious.
"So what's going on here? Why is there a handsome man feeding you?", he asked. Shisui laughed heartily at the compliment, before saying, "That's because I'm going to marry your sister one day."
At this, Tama playfully covered the little boy's ears and whispered to him, "Nee-san is sich and can't feed herself. Don't listen to the strange man, okay?"
Konohamaru nodded in understanding, then turned around and opened his hands in front of Shisui. The man quirked a brow, amused.
"I'll feed her.", Konohamaru declared. Shisui didn't argue, and simply gave the boy Tama's silver chopsticks. He immediately took over the duty.
