"Tristan! Do you have any idea that this is considered kidnapping?" I said and smacked my lap, I'm definitely running out of patience for this nerd.
We've been driving for quite some time now, and I've been trying really hard to give some sense into him. But he wouldn't reply, and will just give one of his infamous smirks.
He has been really tight lipped about this trip, leaving me no clues to where the fuck we are going. The fact that I'm not a local here in this town makes it all the more annoying. I don't know the whereabouts of this place, aside from the signage's that I've failed to read, because his driving surprisingly fast.
"Don't you dare just smirk at me mister!" I said while pointing a finger at him. He then glared at me for a split second, but immediately got his eyes back on the road.
"Don't do that again." His voice had an obvious annoyance in it.
"What this?" I point my finger on his face again. In a quick single motion he grabbed it with his free hand and held it tight.
Oh my gorilla. He's pissed.
He sighed. "I'll break your finger, the next time you do it."
I swallowed a full bowl of saliva. He looks like a gang leader when he's making threats. I'll surely take note of that and nail it in my memory. The only word that was able to escape my mouth was okay. But even then he still didn't let go of my finger – or hand for that matter –because right now, he's holding my entire hand, the one with the injury.
He held my hand securely, lacing it with his. I bit my lip, suppressing the smile that was about to leak. At times like this, I'm really glad I don't blush.
"I'm sorry with what I did. I promise I won't hurt you ever again." He said with a voice so serious, but at the same time warm and sweet, like honey.
"So if I point at you again. You won't break my finger?" I joked, trying to hide the fuzziness I feel inside, and he laughed.
Why does it feels like I'm housing butterflies in my stomach? This feeling is weird. I want to open my mouth and let them all out, but at the same time I want to keep them. I've never felt like this before. Well unless they go out on a different route like my ass, and come out as beautiful farts.
"Now that, I can't promise." He looked at me wearing that occasional smile he rarely makes, which was genuine and heart-stopping.
What the fuck is wrong with me? I mentally slapped myself. Get a hold of your hormones woman! And let go of those fucked up butterflies! Which I did, and they came out as farts, as expected.
"What the fuck!" Tristan shouted and let go of my hand, as he covered his nose. Then he hastily opened the car's windows.
My fart is officially a kill joy.
"I'm sorry about my butterflies." I paused. "I mean fart bomb."
He gave me a pointed look and laughed. "You fart like a dude. I mean, worse than a dude."
"I'll take that as a compliment." I winked. "I think it's gone now. Can we close the window? The wind is cold." Today has a warm weather, so it's really weird why I feel so cold.
This time he looked at me, without any hints of amusement on his face. He then touched my forehead. "You have fever."
I did a face palm. I fainted last night, run a fleet of stairs, went inside the theater that felt like a giant freezer even though I was sweating like a horse, and my sweat dried up because of the cold. This is probably my body's reaction to exhaustion, I'm not used to physical activities, even running. When I was a kid, chess was the thing that I considered as sport.
I smiled. "Guess the trip's over."
"Sadly it's not. Don't worry, mom will take care of you." He closed the window and lowered the air conditioner inside the car. I sighed. There's seriously no way out of this.
It was almost lunch and he stopped in one of McDonald's drive through. This is my chance to spot some signages around the place.
Tristan then looked at me. "What will you have?"
"Cheeseburgers please." I said but my voice was muffled, because I was too close to the car's window, trying to look for signages.
"What?" Tristan asked. I looked away from the window and decided to face him, as did I, his face is now an inch away from mine. My eyes automatically darted on his lips, like it has its own gravitational field pulling my eyes – or is it my lips – towards it. He backed away and coughed the awkward cough.
"I-I was curious at what you're looking on the window." He said red faced, while awkwardly fixing his eyeglass.
"Excuse me sir, can I take your orders please?" The girl in the stall asked Tristan, making him shift his attention from this awkward moment.
He made his orders, and after a few minutes the car was blessed with the smell of fries and cheeseburgers. And were back on the road. I even forgot to find some signages that can point out where we are.
I'll probably just give up, I mean, what now if I know where we are, it still won't make a difference. So I'll just go with the flow, see where this nerd is taking me.
The bag of food was on my lap, making me have the first dibs on what's inside. Even though I already secured the cheeseburger, I kind of have my eyes on this Oreo McFlurry.
But before I could bury my hands inside and dig out some food, Tristan was way ahead of me. And he took out my Oreo!
"Hey! I had my eyes on that!" I blurted out.
He shrugged. "Well, you can't eat with your eyes." He casually said like it's not a big deal. This is food! Of course this is a bigger deal than him being a vampire.
"You can't eat with one hand either." I stick out my tongue.
He sighed, and then parked the car near the stoned walls, overlooking the sea. He got out bringing my ice cream.
It's okay to kidnap me, but my flurry? Oh this is war!
I hurriedly got out and when I did, I suddenly remembered this place. The SRP, it's a highway where only private cars can enter, which is right next to the sea. Though I've only passed this place twice when I was with my uncle's family on a trip towards the southern part of the city. A place where amazing beaches are found... That's when it hit me.
"Where going south?"
"Took a while for you to figure that out."
"Were going to the beach in uniforms? Have you figured that out genius?"
He walked towards me. "Oh just shut up and eat this." He said as he shoved a spoonful of ice cream in my mouth. My reaction time was too slow to grab the spoon or just simply say no. Another indirect kiss.
This nerd is so unpredictable.
