Immediately I fell asleep after they all got out of the room, or even before that. But then I woke up, panting. Even in my dreams that memory still haunts me.
What's worse? Is that I saw him, the guy I killed. But in my dream we exchanged roles, and he was the one who killed me.
I touched my forehead checking to see if it's bleeding, or if there's a bullet hole carved on it. None. But there's one thing I felt, a hand on my back. I looked to my side, expecting to see Kayla but instead Tristan was there. He too was sitting up, looking at me with utmost concern.
Did we sleep on the same bed?
"You okay?" He asked me. Tristan was not wearing his glasses and he has on bed hair, which is sexy. Plus, that rusty voice that boys have when they wake up. Damn. If I weren't in a mental wreck right now, I would've appreciated how hot he looks.
I answered his question with another question. "Why are you here?" I asked with scrunched up eyebrows. Well, I had to know, also where the heck has Kayla gone off to.
Tristan simply run a hand through his hair, and sighed. "I'll take that as a no. And Kayla's in my room, we traded bed's for the meantime." He paused and touched my head as it traveled down to my cheeks, and rested there. "I'm here, because I'm worried about you."
It's really weird and confusing, when he starts exposing that caring side of him. I'm not used to it to be honest, and I can't deal with all this mixed emotions. I closed my eyes and sighed.
"I already told you guys, not to worry about me. I'm fine!" I told him and took his hand off my face. Then laid back to bed, facing the other side. I know, it turned out too harsh than how I imagined.
Then I felt Tristan's weight on the bed as well. But moments after, he threw his arms around me, and whispered something behind my head. "Sleep tight hobbit. I'm here."
I don't know how to react, exactly. Should I take his hands off me? Or leave it there?
But the warmth is weirdly comforting, and knowing him close to me, gives me a sense of protection. That the nightmares might probably stay off if he's here. So I eased myself onto his hug, and let his warmth cover me like a blanket.
The next morning I woke up, alone. I shook my head, maybe last night's incident with Tristan was just a dream. I took off the covers and went to the bathroom, well, to do my morning duties.
I got out fresh from the shower, with only a towel – which is too short for my comfort, like it just barely covered my cat – that's wrapped around my body. Well, I had no choice for our robes are out of sight.
I was confident that there's no one outside, just how it was when I left it. But when I opened the door, it feels like a spotlight was placed on me. Their heated stares felt like it can burn the only thing that's covering my body.
"Holy shit." Were the only words that came out my mouth, before I hastily closed the door with a loud bang. Fuck. They were all there. Sometimes I wish I have sensitive hearing like Tristan does.
How am I going to get out of here? I need a change of clothes, ASAP.
My back was on the door when someone suddenly knocked on it. Obviously I jumped in surprise, both physically and spiritually. My soul had probably left me for a second there. I heard Kayla laugh on the other side. I rolled my eyes but didn't bother to reply.
"Hey. Brought you some clothes." She paused. "Don't worry, it's not Tarzan inspired."
I slightly opened the door to get my clothes, and also said my thanks to Kayla. I know, I should have replied with an awesome comeback, for that would've been my normal response. But I'm still not in the mood, that incident till now hasn't left its bitter taste. It's hard to move on, or forget what just happened by simply sleeping it off.
Kayla got me my white hoodie and tattered jeans, and also a pair of undies. I smiled at her pick. She knows me too well. I breathe deeply when I stepped out my hiding place. It's really a good thing I don't blush, that way it wouldn't be so obvious how embarrassed I am right now. I then hang the towel on the only chair on this room and slumped on the bed.
"Hey there sexy lady." Don said and puts a hand on my shoulder. And I gave him a death glare, more deadly than a gun. He immediately backed off. "Okay. Okay. You're too hot I can't even touch you." He said and they all laughed.
Kayla was busy tinkering on her laptop while sitting on the carpet, as the other two hovers behind her. Tristan then handed me coffee, the same flavor he bought me on our first official meeting, well, after the middle-finger war that is.
"Sorry. I left you. We didn't bother waking you up." He said in almost a whisper. I just nodded in reply and sipped on my coffee. Guess, they went out for breakfast. But then, I almost spit it out when a sudden realization hit me, hard.
Left you?
So we did slept on the same bed, and our position while sleeping...
"You're red. Are you sick?" Tristan asked and puts a hand on my forehead.
I took it off immediately. "No. Uhm. The coffee's too hot. I'm internally burning. Need fire truck, I mean water." I said and jogged back to the bathroom.
What the fuck!
Was I blushing? Impossible. There's like only 1% possibility that that would happen, well, mainly because of my dark complexion. It would take too much heat for me to blush, and it rarely happens, probably once in a blue moon. And that is when I like someone. Which then leads to another question that's running in my head...
I looked straight to the mirror, and splashed my face with cold water. Then sighed heavily.
Do I like Tristan?
