Octavia The Silk performer

At first, it was nothing more but mundane conversations between two strangers.

But as he continued to crave more for the sound of her voice, the stronger his feelings began to develop.

Like Mary, Octavia also came from nothing.

Her father had died when she was only a year old and her mother had died not soon after that from alcohol poisoning.

She was never told how she ended up among the steps outside the catholic church. All she could remember was living amongst ten other foster kids that looked out for each other.

As the years continued to go on, all of her brothers and sister had left her behind. Everyone except for her tried and true, Georgie Fenton.

She and Georgie did have their dream of being adopted; so much so that they prayed every day and night hoping the right parents would come. But like most wishes, it never came true as the years went on.

The dream of a family had shattered, just like their faith.

And so, they decided to pack up their bags, coming to the conclusion that they were never going to get adopted. That there was no future if they remained under the House of God.

With Georgie by Octavias side, they both ran away together. Living off the streets and abandoned buildings until one day, they encountered their Ring Master Magnifico.

"We were only kids Arthur. We were so hungry and so tired having to beg for money. He said that he saw something in the both of us. That in exchange for food and shelter, we would both just have to train and perform to keep him happy.

Georgie wasn't exactly good with people or performing; but he was good at protecting me from harm. So he became the circus' bodyguard. He ate well and worked hard to become the big strong giant he is today. As for me, I was trained to learn the art of Aerial Silk."

"And, do you like what you do Tiger?" I ask.

"Sometimes." She frowns. "I just don't like how Magnifico treats us both when he doesn't like something we do. One time, I messed up during a performance and nearly fell hit head first towards the ground. It was a tricky part of a routine I had trouble getting down, and apparently, I didn't train hard enough to get where I needed to be. So he punished me by punishing Georgie."

Tears swelled under her glittery eyes, recalling the memory that scarred her since then.

"Never again will Georgie be whipped because of my mistakes. Never. He's my brother Arthur, my rock. If anything happened to him, I don't know what I would do."

"I understand Tiger."

I reached out to wipe the tear off her glowing cheek, her warm face leaning into my hand for comfort.

"You're so easy to talk to." She smiles softly. "I like that about you ya know."

"Hm," I smile back. "I'm glad I can be the shoulder you can lean on."

By the time the Circus moved from Waterloo to Kensington, Arthur finally developed the courage to ask her out for a late night stroll.

While at first she was afraid to accept his proposal of a date, Georgie encouraged her to go, promising to keep a look out for her incase Magnifico asked.

Then, those late night strolls then turned into daily outings.

Next thing he knew, Arthur was finally falling in love all over again.
