Peterson didn't even wait for me to ask him if I could ride with Arthur on the way to the arcade. By the time our meals were paid and we were allowed to leave, they were gone.

Anne already knew where the arcade was located so I don't think they would have a problem getting there; it was the ride with Arthur that made me anxious.

Like the gentleman he is, he opened the passenger car door to let me in first.

Everything about the vehicle felt luxurious. From the sleek dark exterior, to the clean leather upholstery that I was sitting on; I especially loved the glossy wooden details on the doors and steering wheel. All of it screamed sexy to me.

A sexy car for a sexy man.

"I'm glad I took the time to get the car detailed." He mentions as he starts the car. "Not that it was dirty in the first place; but now that you're riding in it, knowing that it's freshly clean puts me at ease."

"Is that why it feels different in here?" I ask.

"No, the first time you in my car I was driving my Audi R8. This is my Atson Martin V8."

"Another eight?" I giggle. "Is that your lucky number or something?"

"Maybe it should be." He grins. "Funny enough, it was just a coincidence when I bought the Atson. You're actually the first to notice such a small detail."

The first girl or...

I dared to pry a little deeper.

"First?"

"Of course. Peterson never commented on it and Anne drives her husband's car."

"And... nobody else has?"

"What do you mean nobody else? Unless the person is Valet, no one touches my car."

"Well I mean... have you never taken a friend out for a drive before?"

He turns his head to me, giving me a quizzical look.

"Since when have I ever told you I had friends outside the mansion?"

"I- I don't know!" I shrug nervously. "I just thought you had friends! What about Alina? She's a friend right?"

"More like an acquaintance." He says. "We're not exactly 'buddy-buddy'."

"And the people at your work?"

He shakes his head with a disinterested expression. "I go there to work, not mingle. In case you haven't noticed, I prefer to keep my circle small, hence why I don't expand farther than just having Peterson and Anne in my life."

"Oh, I see." I nervously fidget with my earring. "Do you think you would be open to have more friends in the future?"

"If I even live that long." He laughs softly. "Like I said, I prefer to keep my circle small."

"That's fair." I nod to myself.

Then came the big curious question.

"... Am I your friend Arthur?"

He lets out a sudden loud scoff.

"Oh my god, It was just a question!" I feel my cheeks grow rosy. "I only meant if you trust me like a friend!"

"There's no need to be defensive about it Dear, I trust you." He assures me. "Not once have I sensed deceit from you; not that I think you would ever try to lie to me for your own personal gain."

"I wouldn't." I said firmly with a head shake. "I don't like being lied to so why should I treat people that way? I have no reason to lie to you or anyone else."
