This is the last part of this short story with my original characters, Tom Agreste and Nancy Lahaffe.  Do not steal the plot or the characters. Jack, Heather, and Elise are characters that belong to me as well.

Tom and Nancy smiled at each other as they received the crowns as the King and Queen at the dance. They were surprised, yet happy.

After the dance, Tom took Nancy home. He kissed her. She kissed him.

Time skip brought to you by Tom's sneakers!

It has been two years since that day Tom took Nancy with him to the dance. The two grew closer over the years and were nearly inseparable. They went almost everywhere together. They sat together at graduation and afterward went to the movies. They blushed when they grabbed the popcorn at the same time.

The two went to college together, and Tom supported Nancy in her nursing degree as she did him in his degree as a college professor. Tom graduated with honors and so did Nancy.

Tom stood with her as the best man in a friend's wedding while she was the maid of honor. He thought she was as pretty as ever.  He smiled when she caught the bridal bouquet.

Tom supported Nancy through the loss of her grandfather, her great-grandma, and her uncles.  He was with her the day she got word that her brother had been killed in a car accident on the road.

He was there for her again when she called him on the phone in tears saying someone had broken into her home and attacked her. He came over, hugged her, called the police, and got her to the hospital. He waited to hear how she was doing.

"Your girlfriend tested negative for all the sexually transmitted diseases, but the attacker did cause her a lot of pain. Also, she is distraught because well, she is pregnant," The doctor told Tom.

Tom was shocked, but he went to see her. He held her hand and said, "It is okay, Nancy I am here for you." He kissed her cheek.

When she was released from the hospital, Tom took her home. Her parents did not let her come home, and he was angry, so he took her to stay with him at his place. He supported her.

Later, when the baby was born, he took her to the hospital, and when someone asked, "Who plans to help the young lady with the baby, Tom spoke up and said, "She is With Me," like he had always done.  The nurse smiled.

Tom and Nancy were married privately at the same hospital where baby, Conole Marcus was born. They went home together taking the baby with them.

Tom woke up one night hearing Nancy's sobs. He saw her holding the lifeless body of her baby in her arms. "What happened?" He asked. Nancy sobbed more," I woke up to feed him, but he was cold when I picked him up and I knew he had died in his sleep."  She said.

Tom made the arrangements for the funeral. He held her close as the pastor spoke and again as others came by to give them well wishes.

Tom was with her when Nancy fell and twisted her ankle on a piece of ice. He was with her. He smiled at his wife, Nancy and she looked at him. "Can we go home now?" Nancy asked. Tom nodded. He took his wife who had recovered from the ankle injury, and had been depressed and having treatments and seeing a psychologist for months home.

The next day, Tom awakened and saw Nancy standing there smiling. He kissed her and she kissed him.

"Thanks for always being there for me, Tom," Nancy said.

"I always have and always will, my darling," Tom said.

The day Tom went to pick up a little girl and her brother from the orphanage, Nancy accompanied him. The boy hugged him, but the girl pointed at Nancy. "Who is she?" The girl asked.

"That is my wife, Nancy, " Tom said.

The girl smiled, "She looks like a good mom."

Nancy smiled, "Come on Heather, and Jack, let's go home."

Tom and Nancy went home with their adopted children, Heather and Jack. The two were happy children and got along splendidly.

One day, at school, Heather was punched by some bully. Jack was furious. "Leave her alone, she is my sister," He said. He defined his sister.

Later, Jack heard sobbing and saw a girl alone in the cafeteria. He held her hand, "Come on you can sit with my sister and me."   Jack smiled as she sat down. He offered her some of his food.

From then on, Jack, Heather, and Jack's girl sat together.  One day, Jack brought her home to meet his parents. She was shy.

Heather smiled. Jack did the same. The girl held onto him.

"Hi, Heather, Hi Jack, and who is this?" Nancy asked.

"Yes, who is she?" Tom asked.

"Oh, this here is Elise and she is with me," He said. Elise smiled, "Oh, Jack, you are the sweetest."
