Luka's POV:
It has been a week since I arrived in the nick of time to stop that creep from harming my girl.
A week, since her place was ransacked and the police still had not caught her ex-boyfriend yet. A week of her staying in the guest bedroom area of my boat house.
I had taken her out on a few small dates. I let her pick out a new dress last night when I took her shopping. I couldn't wait to see how cute it looked on her. I hadn't officially asked her to be my girlfriend yet. I had gotten closer to her than I expected to. I began to think of her as the one I might even love.
I heard Zoe whimpering in her sleep and went to check on her. The poor girl was shivering. "Buttercup," I spoke softly. I pulled her close to me and kissed her cheek. " Buttercup, you okay?" I asked. She woke up and put her head on my chest. I blushed.
"What is for breakfast?" She asked. "Waffles and bacon, or would have cinnamon rolls, eggs, and some fruit instead." "Wow, you are so good to me," She said. "It is the least I can do for my girl," I said. "Your girl?" Zoe asked. "I uh, I didn't mean to trouble you, darling," not noticing the slip-up. "Luka, do you want me to be yours?" She asked. "Yes, I would love to have you as my girlfriend," I said. "So, will you be my girlfriend?" I asked her. "Yes, I would love to," She said.
I got up so she could get ready. "See you at breakfast," I said. "Okay, oh, could you do the bacon, fruit, eggs, and cinnamon rolls," She stated. "Sure thing, Buttercup," I said. "Okay, sounds good, Luka, dear," She said. I blushed. She called me dear. I left the room before I could kiss her.
I started on breakfast so she could have some privacy. I heard her hum a few minutes later as she entered the kitchen. "Luka, is this outfit good for today?" She asked. I spun around and felt my mouth gaping open. She looked stunning in the dress. I couldn't help, but blush harder. "You are beautiful as always, Buttercup, darling. That dress looks stunning on you." "Awe, thanks, dear." There she goes calling me dear again. I liked it.
I finished fixing the food and survived her some first. Then, put some on my plate. As she bit into the bacon, she scowled. I wondered what brought that reaction. "Does it taste bad?"
"No, it is good," She tried to assure me. "Then, why are you scowling?" "It is just you only have two pieces of bacon, and I have four slices," She stated. "Oh, about that there were only six slices left in the pack," I explained. "Oh, then, you should have given us three pieces per each of us," She remarked. "Is that so?" "yes," She said. "I will remember that for next time."
"Where are we going today?" she asked.
"Well, my girlfriend, if you want, I planned to go grocery shopping, then out to lunch, and come back here. After the groceries are put up, we could go to the jewelry store." I said.
"Jewelry? It's too soon for you to propose," she said.
I laughed. "Buttercup, I did not mean rings. I meant to find you some earrings and a nice necklace. Only if you want to," I replied.
"Oh, I feel so silly right now," Zoe said.
I enjoyed having Zoe tag along for groceries, and a nice lunch date with her, bought her the necklace and earrings. I took her home after buying the jewelry.
I saw her packing and frowned. Did this mean she regretted agreeing to date me?
"Zoe, stop!" She looked up. "Luka, I have to finish, and get to my new place. Don't fret, I will text you when I get there." She kissed my cheek and then finished packing. I watched her go and felt sad.
