            Adrien's  POV:

When I stood up to Chole, I saw Alya's shocked expression. It was almost as if she were proud of me. Perhaps she was since she and Marinette are best friends. I suppose that means Marinette now has two best friends. It was nice to be part of our friend's group.

I missed Marinette. I was glad we were on speaking terms again. I did not know why Chole could be nicer to her. Was she jealous?  Goodness Alya was something else, why did she think I was sweet on Marinette? What did that mean anyway?

I heard Marinette stutter as she thanked me for standing up for her. "It is okay, you don't need to thank me." I heard her sigh. I noticed that her face was pink. Was she sick? "Are you okay?" I asked. "Y-yes," She muttered. I took her home.

I did not understand, why she seemed nervous around me.  Had I done something wrong?  Girls were sure hard to figure out. I stayed for snacks and helped her with homework-mainly the math and science as usual. She helped me with  English since I struggled in that subject.

I was not sure if I should stay for supper. "I will have to call my father because he is home," I explained. I stood up and called him.  I listened to what he had to say. I returned to the table with a smile. "Father says it is alright.  He told me, I might as well stay here for a few days since he is only home tonight. He is leaving tomorrow and will gone for two weeks," I explained to the Dupain-Chengs. I saw Marinette's face turned a bright red. Odd, what was the matter with her?

Tom and Sabine agreed to let me stay. "You will sleep on the sofa. I will not have you staying in my daughter's room. It would be inappropriate due to the teen hormones and all," Tom said.  I did not understand but agreed to the sofa. "The sofa is fine," I told him.

After supper, I heard a knock at the door, who could that be?  "Adrien, here are the things Mr. Agreste said you would need," The Gorilla said as he handed me a suitcase, a small bag, and a pillow. "Thanks, sir," I said. He grunted and nodded his head. Then, he left.   I was surprised my father did not insist my bodyguard had to stay over too.

I put my things in the living room and watched a movie with Marinette. She fell asleep with her head on my shoulder. I turned off the television. Was she always this pretty? I blushed. I carried her to her room and laid her on her bed. I kissed her cheek, then went back downstairs. I did not want to risk getting in trouble with her father. I got ready for bed and laid on the sofa.

I slept feeling confused.  When had Marinette turned into a lovely young lady?  I sighed. I was not sure what to do about this feeling. I had not felt this way about anyone before.

The two weeks went by fast. On the school days, Marinette and I sat in class together as usual, then did homework together. Supper time was awkward cause Tom and Sabine would go on about how great it was Marinette and I were friends again.  I heard Marinette sigh.  One evening,  something odd happened. "Stop it already," Marinette shouted. I gasped in surprise.  Why had she shouted at her father? I had not seen that side of her before.

While Tom and Sabine did the dishes, Marinette and I went on a walk. I sensed something troubled her. " A-Adrien," She stuttered. "Marinette, why are you upset with your father?"  I asked. She refused to look at me. Great, she was upset with me now too.

"I go home tomorrow,"  I told her.  I heard her sob. I did not know what happened. I knew her crying made me upset. "Don't cry, Marinette," I said. She kept sobbing. I pulled her close to me. "Please, don't cry, we all care about you," I said. She pulled away. "Y-you would not understand." She said. She ran off. "Wait, Marinette!"  I called after her.
