Luka arrived at Kagami's practice earlier than he had planned. Kagami was already there, looking lovelier than ever in her reddish-orange fencing suit. She stood tall, holding her fencing sword, and wearing the helmet that obscured her face, yet he could still see the gleam in her eyes when she saw him.
"Hi, Luka!" Kagami greeted him. "Hi, Kagami!" Luka replied.
Kagami's mother listened to the two young people carry on as if she weren't there, despite her blindness, she had a keen sense of hearing. She felt it often could be used to advantage. She was not pleased with Adrien. She had been set on his and Kagami agreeing to sorts that might unite the households for good. She knew it was no use hoping for something far past the point of no return. She had received news that Adrien Agreste had married some other girl. Well, too bad for him that he lost out on the world's finest fencer chick. No matter, perhaps, this Luka fellow may prove himself good for her daughter.
At the same time, Marinette was working hard at the bakery, surprised that Felix had dropped by with the same request as yesterday. It seemed as if he enjoyed challenging her. She shrugged, not wanting to admit that he might succeed in proving her wrong. Admitting that would also mean agreeing with Tikki, who believed Felix was a good distraction from the Agreste boy who had broken Marinette's heart. What did Tikki know about love anyway? Marinette would never forget Adrien, no matter how much he had hurt her. Tikki noticed Marinette blushing as Felix smiled and winked at her. She watched in amazement as he leaned over the counter and planted a small, innocent kiss on Marinette's left hand as he paid for the croissant.
Tikki was secretly rooting for Felinette alongside Plagg. It was the better ship since it was clear that Felix had no interest in other girls, aside from the bluenette who held his heart. She could sense that Felix was the right one for her holder, despite Marinette's obvious dismissal of any romantic feelings on his part. his part.
"Why else did he agree to such a deal? Marinette is plain to see he intends to carry this through so that he may earn your favor and take you to the work party. He loves you far better than any other boy even more than Luka. Besides, Adrien did not appreciate Plagg enough to keep him. Poor Plagg was hurt too when Adrien pushed him aside for his wife." Tikki explained.
"Plagg, what does he have to do with Adrien?" Marinette looked at Tikki perplexed. "As if you didn't know, he was the previous Chat Noir holder. I can't tell you who the new holder is, but I can tell you this, Plagg is happier with him than he ever was with Adrien," Tikki gushed.
"Tikki, I can't believe my ears. You can't seriously ship me with Felix De Graham Vanily. Why, it's preposterous! After all, he deceived me into thinking he was Adrien, and he helped Hawkmoth steal all the miraculous," Marinette shouted.
"Shh, keep your voice down. The new Hawkmoth is still at large, you know. Besides, everyone deserves a second chance, yes, even Felix. We know as well as anyone that he is good for you, Marinette. He did help you get the fox, turtle, snake, peacock, pig, chicken, ox, and bee miraculous back from the original Hawkmoth, which is more than I can say for the traitor whose name shall not be mentioned," Tikki said with disdain.
Time skip brought to you by Tikki and Plagg!
Two months passed, yet Luka continued attending Kagami's practices, and Tomoe had gotten used to his presence. She hadn't tried to intervene in the growing relationship between the two.
Felix had been visiting the bakery every day since Marinette's challenge began. He always ordered the same chocolate croissant, and occasionally, he would order a macaron and some hot chocolate. Despite Marinette's doubts, he had continued to visit for almost three months. This fact tugged at Marinette's heartstrings more than she cared to admit. She had grown fond of his daily visits, although she denied feeling anything more than friendship towards him.
Tikki would hide and keep tabs on everything that happened so she could inform Plagg. Sometimes, she would sneak out to speak with him while Marinette was busy with homework, but mostly while her holder was asleep. She didn't risk being away too much in case the new holder of the cat miraculous needed Ladybug's assistance. She noticed that the new holder refused to call himself Chat Noir. Instead, he went by Chaton, Chat, or Noiree, which Tikki had to admit was rather clever of him. She didn't think Marinette had caught on to his identity yet. Tikki also noticed that Marinette had softened up to him in his hero form, despite her constant denial that she would ever feel anything for anyone other than Adrien.
Today, Felix sneaked up behind her. He wished he dared to kiss her. He had been limited to showing affection towards her only by kissing her hand for now. He did not want her to feel pressured. She was as delicate as she was beautiful. He sighed.
"Hi, Marinette!" Felix said.
Marinette spun around when she heard him speak.
"Hi, Felix," Marinette said, trying not to let him see her blush at his presence. Felix smirked. He liked her reaction to him. He was sure this meant it was only a matter of time before she fell in love with him and had forgotten about her first crush. It would serve Adrien right the day Marinette forgot him, since he had done nothing but break her heart.
"What brings you here?" Marinette asked. "Awe, you crushed me, fair maiden, but I did win so I will accompany you to the work party," Felix said. She was about to argue he had done no such thing when she realized he was right. "Fine, I shall wear a blue dress so keep that in mind when it comes to any gifts such as flowers," She said. "Oh, what makes you think I would stoop to bringing you flowers, my lovely blue raven?" Felix asked. "Blue Raven?" Marinette asked. She looked stunned at his speech. "Yes, you are beautiful but your words prick me as a raven pricks at its food," Felix said. "I see then, my dashing finch I shall look forward to the party." She said.
Tikki giggled. She knew that Marinette was teasing him, but she was also certain that the young lady was starting to fall for Felix, whether she realized it or not. She saw Felix blush.
"Before I bid you ado, when is this party?" Felix inquired. "Tomorrow night, at 6 pm," Marinette replied."Then, Marinette, Blue Raven, I shall see you at 5:30 pm," Felix said. "Ah, I see," Marinette said. Felix smirked as she blushed a deeper red than usual when he brought his lips to her hand. "Now, I bid you ado, Blue Raven," He winked at her.
Marinette stood there sighing as he left. She thought dashing finch I shall look forward to tomorrow night more than you know. She dared not admit she started to think of the arrangement as a date. She shook her head. She could not tell Felix this because she was sure he would only tease her more.
