"Likers? Huh... likers?!"
Paikot-ikot ako sa harap ni Gab at Karl. Hindi pa rin mawala ang boses ni Maelle sa isipan ko at kung paano niya sinabi iyon nang walang kaabog-abog.
Bumuga ako ng hangin.
"Likers?" I sarcastically laughed. "Ano kami? Facebook group page?!"
"Calm down, doggie. First of all..." Gab stopped me from further reacting. "When did you start seeing someone else?"
"Since my... birthday?" That's when I officially confessed to her.
"Tang ina, naaalala ko na naman!" Karl came in between. "Hindi tayo invited sa party ng gagong iyan!"
Gulat na napatingin sa akin si Gab. "What?! May party ka?!"
I rolled my eyes.
"That's not the issue! And for god's sake... si Lolo ang may gusto niyon, hindi ako!"
"But she was there—"
"Dahil sa banda namin!"
Mas lalo silang nagulat.
"Kasama ka na sa banda?!"
Napahilot ako ng sentido ko. I didn't know that I kept a lot of news from them the whole time.
I sighed.
"Focus on the issue and I will tell you the rest."
"Men..." Nagningning ang mga mata ni Karl sa akin. "You're overcoming your grief. Congratulations!"
"I can't believe this is happening. You are now functioning well like a normal human being!"
"Pwede ba?!" Inis kong sigaw. "Hindi niyo ba ako narinig?! I said... she called us likers! Likers daw kami and we're not actually together!"
Ngumiwi si Gab.
"Ano ba kasi kayo?"
"She's my girlfriend."
"Pero hindi ka niya boyfriend?"
"What the hell is that kind of relationship?! We're girlfriends and boyfriends!"
"Teka nga..." Pag-awat ni Karl. "Niligawan mo ba?"
I stopped for a brief moment.
"Well... hindi." Napapahiyang sagot ko.
"Paano mo nasabing kayo na kung ganoon?"
"What else would I call this, then?"
Natawa si Gab. "Dog and owner relationship?"
I glared at him. "Seriously? You think I'm joking right now?"
"Hindi iyon joke, men. Let's step into reality, shall we?"
Minsan na nga lang ako magsabi sa kanila... ganito pa? I will never do this again.
"Hindi ba't... hatid-sundo mo siya sa university? Kasama ka rin niya kahit saan magpunta! At hindi lang iyon, taga-asikaso ka pa niya ng mga problema niya!"
"It's not like she was asking me those. Ako ang nagkukusa—"
"Eh 'di asong nagkukusa..." Pareho silang natawa na mas ikinainis ko pa.
