Chapter 3

I admire people who can work well with others. Those who are not socially awkward and are able to gain friends anytime they want. Those who are always lively as if they are not running out of energy.

Most of my cousins are like that—although si Tori at Shara, mas madalas makakuha ng kaaway. Well, at least, they can socialize well. Whereas, I am in between. Noong high school ako, I am very friendly. Ngayon, parang... nawalan ako ng gana all of a sudden. Nagpapanggap na lang siguro ako when I am acting hilarious in front of others— because deep inside... I know that... I am not that kind of person anymore.

Why am I saying this?

"I won't be surprised if you will say that you're homeless."

"Ulol."

Bahay mo?

He must have been alone here. Even if I masturbate out of nowhere, no one will see me.

That Derwick exhausted me. Hinigop niya ang kaluluwa ko out of my body. I can't believe this.

Sinara niya ang kaniyang pinto as he proceeded to his table.

"What?" I ridiculously asked.

"I'm just saying, baka nagtatago ka mula sa unit mo dahil takot kang matokhang..."

"You surely do watch news." Ngumisi siya.

"Cut it off. Nasaan si Tita?"

"Nasa trabaho."

"Akala ko magre-retire na siya?"

"She can't. Wala siyang tiwala sa akin. She knows I am too lousy for my job."

"Well... that's not exactly a lie."

"What a life." Sumalampak siya sa swivel chair niya. "I have no girlfriend, no funds, and... I suck at my job. May mas malala pa ba rito?"

"Try me." Mayabang kong sabi. "My girlfriend is dead, my funds are used to pay for my tuition, and I have no job. I am miserable inside and out."

"Mabuti pa si Gab! May girlfriend, may pera, at may trabaho! Puchang buhay 'to, oh!

"Speaking of..." I looked down at my phone after it started vibrating. Gab is calling.

"Pustahan, may kailangan iyan!"

I hissed. "Malamang, hindi naman tayo nagtatawagan." I answered the call. "Hey... "

"Hello, Rhys? Where are you?"

"Karl's. Why?"

"Hindi ka pupunta?"

"Saan?"

"Sa freshmen party?"
