JeongWoo was somewhere in the middle when it came to parties. He didn't completely reject the idea of going to a party nor was he a party-boy when he was young. Dancing with loud music in the background wasn't his forte, though he enjoyed the aspect of building connections with people at a much less formal getup. Goddess knows how much information people can spill while under influence.
JeongWoo was good at maintaining his status and presence in the society despite Jihoon's complaints on his lack of seriousness and interest in managing their businesses.
And so here he was, conducting delightful conversations with groups of high-profiles at his birthday party even though deep inside he wanted to go home and cuddle with his omega.
"Please, enjoy the night, Gentlemen." The birthday-man yanked his champagne flute towards three middle-age men, each sporting a pot belly that reflected their wealth.
They made no effort in hiding greediness from their faces, the reason why JeongWoo grumbled internally as he walked away, thanking Goddess he could end their conversation.
The high-level alpha kept his eyes roaming around the venue that only the top 1% of the population could rent for their events. His siblings and in-laws were doing their own businesses with different guests, including Soi who was sitting on a round table with kids her age all dressed in princess-style dress and mini tux for the boys. Mr. and Mrs. Kim along with their recessive omega son weren't there yet although it was already three quarters through the end of the night. It was weird considering they're supposed to be honorary guests according to Hyunsuk. He sipped on his drink and glanced through the small gap of his flute at his parents who were talking to a couple whom he recognized as a military general alpha and his omega husband.
JeongWoo snickered. His parents treated his birthday as an occasion to make another business deal.
"Yoo, bro!" An arm flung over JeongWoo's shoulders, dragging him down by his nape and distracting him from his parents.
JeongWoo looked up to the arm's owner and found one of his friends, Seung Ho, grinning at him. Three more of his friends walked behind him. All clad in suits that were too casual for the black tie dress-code printed on the invitation. Seung Ho wore a burgundy velvet suit with black shirt underneath, the fabric felt soft and expensive even to JeongWoo's skin as it brushed against his nape. Right behind him was Mark, JeongWoo's friend since middle school, the only high-level alpha in the group aside from JeongWoo himself. The man was obnoxiously wearing a pastel yellow colored suit, couldn't care about his parents' protest as they were also attending the party. Walking behind him arm in arm were a female dominant alpha and a male dominant omega, and while Eunhe, the female alpha wore all black suit and silk tank top underneath to show her masculinity as an alpha despite the rule that she's supposed to wear a gown, the short dominant omega, Aoki, wore colorful suit and pants that would be more appropriate if he were to wear them for a Sunday brunch at a tropical island.
No one cares about their choice of outfit since they're famous for being spoiled children of their wealthy parents. Not even the guards at the door dare to stop them from entering the venue because they don't follow the dress code.
"You're old, dude!" Seung Ho said, playfully ruffling JeongWoo's gelled hair.
"Oh fuck off, I'm only a few months older than you." JeongWoo nudged the dominant alpha's ribs with his elbow to get himself free before he carefully fixed his hair. Junkyu had spent half an hour styling his hair, and he intended to keep it that way until he came home.
Seung Ho laughed as he gave JeongWoo some space and snapped his fingers to call a nearby server. "Still, you're old." He remarked jokingly.
Mark chuckled in amusement at Seung Ho's attempt in annoying his friend as he stepped forward and stretched his hand out. "Happy birthday, Park JeongWoo." He said, offering a hand shake.
