Junkyu never imagined he could feel so unbearably attached, so irrationally clingy, to someone—not even to Haruto years ago.

The deceased, like JeongWoo, had traveled extensively for work. One-night trips, two-night trips, even week-long business ventures to distant continents. But not once had Junkyu felt the need to beg Haruto to stay or entertain the notion of sabotaging his departure.

This time, however, Junkyu stood at the foot of the bed, glaring at JeongWoo's open luggage as though it were his sworn nemesis. He debated tearing out the meticulously packed clothes—folded by his own hands—and tossing them haphazardly to the floor.

Perhaps if he repacked them slowly enough, JeongWoo would miss his flight. But no—this was a chartered flight. Instead of cancelling the meetings, they're probably going to reschedule them, and rescheduling would mean more days away, and Junkyu couldn't bear the thought.

"I'm afraid your eyeballs are going to pop out of their sockets if you keep staring like that," JeongWoo teased, stepping out of the walk-in closet. He looked effortlessly polished, with his neatly styled hair, crisp white button-down, tailored black slacks, and a perfectly knotted black tie.

The alpha moved behind Junkyu and slid his hands beneath the curve of his growing belly, gently lifting its weight. His touch was warm and grounding as he enveloped both his omega and their pups in a tender embrace. "I'll be back the day after tomorrow, Sugar. It's not as long as you think." His voice, calm and soothing, held the same promise he'd repeated since last night.

Junkyu sighed, leaning his head against JeongWoo's shoulder in reluctant defeat. "You'll come to the hospital, right?"

"Of course. There's no way I'd miss checking on our pups." JeongWoo pressed a kiss to Junkyu's temple, his lips lingering. "If possible, I'll pick you up. If not, I'll head straight from the airport. Either way, I'll be there before the appointment."

"Promise?" Junkyu's tone was insistent, demanding.

"Pinky pwomise." JeongWoo replied with mock solemnity, holding up his right hand and extending his pinky in front of Junkyu's face.

Despite himself, Junkyu giggled, scrunching his nose at the childish gesture. His distinguished alpha using a baby voice and a pinky swear was both ridiculous and endearing. Yet he complied, linking their pinkies and sealing the promise with a thumb kiss.

"I love it when my little sugar is all happy and smiley," JeongWoo cooed, planting playful kisses along Junkyu's right cheek. The omega turned his head, offering his left cheek for equal treatment.

Who was JeongWoo to deny such a privilege? He peppered the other cheek with kisses until Junkyu playfully pulled back, smirking.

"Who are you calling little? I'm as big as you," Junkyu challenged, arms looping around JeongWoo's shoulders as his fingers played with the short hair at his nape. He couldn't help but admire how ridiculously handsome his alpha looked—he always did.

"Only because you're carrying three pups," JeongWoo countered with a smug grin. "Otherwise, you're still my small, sweet little sugar."

Junkyu could have countered with facts about his height or pre-pregnancy weight, but time was precious, and there were more pressing matters to be addressed before they had to leave the bedroom for breakfast. "Can I scent you?" he asked, his voice soft but serious.

"I already smell like you," JeongWoo replied. "What do you need scenting for?"

"It's not enough," Junkyu admitted, leaning closer to sniff at JeongWoo's neck. The alpha smelled of roses and vanilla, notes of their bond, but his dominant peppermint and green forest scent remained prominent. It wasn't enough—not for Junkyu. "I want you to smell only like me. Just me."
